I figured out the problem.. I was saving as a png with GIMP but it must have been doing something strange.. when I saved with photoshop it worked fine! Thanks for the help ^^

hi everyone ^^ sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but I'm at my wits end with this! I've been trying to texture this tail for around 7 hours now and nothing i do seems to work... the tail in question is the DSD Aardwolf tail. I downloaded the UV from the DSD site and have opened it in GIMP. From this point im totally lost! I retextured the entire avatar apart from the tail - whenever i apply the new texture to the tail, this happens: http://s29.postimg.org/x3b29ag1v/tail.jpg If anyone could point me to what im doing wrong here i would glomp you forever because its getting so frustrating now!!
