Got it, thanks. But, does that mean that GOR can't be used in names anymore? Like names with Gorilla, gorgeous, Gordon, Gorky, Gregor? I did searches and did see that there have been names like Gor (insert last name) in the past. It may be a trivial thing, but a curious thing. Gourug

When I first joined SL, I tried to get Gorug as my name, but the sign-up said it was taken. I use the same name in several places on the net and wanted to keep things the same. I even tried Gorug with more after it. Like, GorugXXX, etc. No go on any. So I sign up as Gourug. After getting the hang of things, I checked to see about the Gorug that was already in here. hmmmm, there wasn't one. A friend said that the person might have cancelled the account and wouldn't show up now. Sooooooo, just for fun and not having much to do at the time ---------- For the heck of it, I began trying again to get my Gorug name again, with something added to it, like I did at sign-up. I tried different letters, numbers, before and after the name. None were available, all were taken. Even Gorughrudhyghbndfjkeru567463759696 was taken. huh ???????? I tried BearGorug -- taken. SuperhunkGorug --- taken bdkghjghruturyetyfgghdGorug -- taken huh????????? Then I wondered if part of Gorug was unacceptable. So I began trying names using parts of Gorug and found that the GOR part is the problem. So, I tried various combinations of Gorilla as I did with Gorug. Same results. Any name with GOR in it is apparently taken. huh?????? So, as still a fairly new guy here, is there something I'm missing? What is it about GOR in a name the will give you the -- X That name is taken. Try again Notice?
