That is the Da Boom Infohub & Pod Station, and the nearby playground. This is embarrassing - I took a pod by there last week and parachuted off the top of the tower and never even looked in the basement....

Shempo? Darn - I was so close...Anyway, here is another one. This is sort of a hybrid Linden/Commercial Place, but it has a lot of information. You can pick up a free 'Continent detector' - or a free camel...

OT - At Bay City Fairgrounds Marianne McCann has set up rows of posters of the wonderful places the Moles have made.. The posters give you a landmark when you touch them. I collected the whole set of landmarks.

Here's my next one. It's a little hot. Here's a clue: It is in Sansara, near a small visitor center where you can take a balloon to fly over it. Second Life legend says that when times are bad, residents sacrifice other residents to the volcano. To get inside you can stand on the rim, cam down, and double-click on where you want to stand*.  Unfortunately, when I went to check today, someone seems to have turned off the lava. 

*set preferences to teleport when double-clicking.

Chakryn Forest used to be a nice place to walk around. There were several quests, and beautiful landscaping. Today I stopped by and there are four deformers in the center of the region, disgused as "Avatar on Canvas" 1,2,3,4. Inspection shows they were made by Ryan Linden and owned by the head of the land group that runs the region. Chakryn is described as "Secluded and romantic forest covering an entire sim....".   Somehow, being stretched and deformed isn't my idea of 'romantic'. I find it mildly annoying/amusing now, but as a newbie I would have panicked and never come back.

I've noticed SL abuse about this, but thought I would mention it in forum.

BTW, you get 'undeformed' if you log out and come back.

There are wonderful parcels in Bellisseria, but I wanted to also have a place where I wouldn't have to worry about offending my neighbors.

Found this 1024 while I was looking for something else. I didn't check carefully enough and it turns out most of it is under water. I decided to put a small gazebo and pier on it and build the rest in the sky.
