To begin with my av\atar was fine until I tried on a different body and I was getting issues. While many of the body parts loaded without a problem, the base body textures appeared corrupted, looking like a mix between blurry and static. Taking the body texture off and on again only randomised how this texture appeared and often it would just appear transparent. I deleted the items and redownloed them but the problem was still there. I tried dressing in the standard avatars after that and the problems persisted there. with only certain parts of the clothing appearing, the body being invisible except for the hair and so on. I looked into the problem and assumed it had something to do with the HTTP textures so I cleared the cache (both in the viewer and manually) and rebaked after turning the option off. Nothing appeared to fix it until I went into the debug menu, typed in imagePipelineUseHTTP and set it to false. I rebaked with ctrl+alt+r. That appeared to work as the body I was trying to load to begin with had finally loaded. After trying on some clothes the problem came up again. I had been using both the official viewer as well as Firestorm and the problem continued. I cleared the cache both in the viewer and manually then uninstalled them both and reinstalled the SL viewer. Ever since then my avatar has appeared as a cloud and I haven't been able to do a thing since. Rebaking is useless, equipping and unequipping doesn't do a thing and I turned off the HTTP textures. I'm using Win 7 (64 bit) and the latest viewers. Right now my avatar is in a pretty empty place. UPDATE 1 Can't see an option to reply so I will have to update the question. @ Nyll I did the character test and the cloud issue was cleared up even though I still had some problems with the textures themselves. I managed to revert back to the body I was using originally and that loaded up with the texture problems again. I'll look through the wiki now. @ Luc Not really a silly question, During the whole process of trying to get this all working I did change graphical settings a few times. Right now those shaders are on. Not using tattoo layers though. However your monitor question looks like it could be the source of the problem. You see I have two monitors, the one on the right is my main monitor both originally (before I got a second monitor) and according to the computer. Though my secondary monitor is marked as number 1 according to the computer (probably because it is on the left, my taskbar, and everything like games open primarily on the right monitor. I use SL on the left one because that is where my focus is drawn (though I use the right for games because that is where they open up. Basically I prefer using the left/secondary monitor as my main one because of how my desk is laid out. To sum it up, the left monitor is the computers secondary monitor yet my primary focus one. The right monitor is the computer's primary but my secondary focus. That is where we get back to the problem. I moved SL over to the right/main monitor and rebaked. Instantly the avatar came out exactly as it should. I moved the window back over to the left/secondary monitor and rebaked and the problems happened again. I did this a few times back and forth and the left was the one with the problems and the right worked every time. Personally I would rather avoid having to shift the client over every time I update my avatar (which I would do quite a bit for a while until I finally get it the way I want it). The monitor seems to be the issue here somehow.
