  2. I was watching a video on YouTube about doing a "Fuzzy Stuffed Bear" in Blender. It shows the technique to actually bring the bear realistic hair. I was wondering if it's possible to for example upload this bear into Second Life? Beforehand thank you!
  3. Hey! So basically months ago I saw and then bought a Mesh Avatar (Sasuke from Naruto) and what I wonder is How is it possible and done? The mesh avatar wherever you look at it is contoured with a bold black line and the whole avatar is more lightened, is like an anime character indeed. Beforehand thanks!
  4. The thing I'm amazed by is how fast all the process is... I've played CCS and literally when you hit someone the Health points decrease at the same time, it's incredible that the communication between meters is so fast. Well, except for laggy sims, I've noticed when there are more than 30 people fighting in the same sim it gets so much laggy that your health doesn't decrease but suddenly after some minutes or you crash or you are defeated by all the hits and skills that were stuck.

  6. Hey! I hope you're having a great time. So my questions are about the combat systems in SL (DCS2, CCS, etc.) 1. How does it work the hit system? and by hit I mean, how does it work that someone hit and the other receive damage? Is it the function between meters? (i.e. Meter1 sends through a channel the amount of damage Meter2 should take, and Meter2 receives the information and represents it in the health points???) 2. How do guns work? When you shoot someone, how the meter knows how much damage take from a bullet? 3. How do weapons/fists work? How is developed the script for hitting when it comes to using the Left-click Mouse button + Arrow keys? Beforehand, thank you so much! -Cheers!

  8. So it's nothing about the mesh being scripted? They disappear if they're attached to the body instead of worn? Because I've rigged clothes & hair and non-rigged ones, and they are shown even if I use that function. Then the ones that I've bought in marketplace that claim to be mesh are probably not mesh? Cheers!
  9. I'm using Firestorm.... but the thing is that I use that shortcut and for example... Mesh hair, Mesh clothes do not disappear. There are some mesh things over the marketplace, and they claim their product as mesh and they're scripted and I've bought some things that are supposed to be mesh and when I use this shortcut, they disappear like a common prim. So, maybe they're not mesh as they're supposed to be? Is it because they are scripted? Is it because they're not rigged? (although I've some mesh hair that are not rigged and are shown even if I use this function) Cheers!
  10. Thank you for your reply. I wasn't trying to do a script for griefing or remove prims or anything like that. The shortcut I'm referring is a TOOL of the VIEWERS that you are able to use when your ADVANCED tab is active in your viewer. This shortcut AKA tool, lets you remove from the scene/view ALL the prims but YOU only see this change, it doesn't affect anyone but you. It helps when you're in a laggy sim and you want prims out your view so your computer do not waste resources in drawing them. When there was no mesh and you'd use this shortcut, you would see everyone without hair, all bald, no buildings, simply no prims. After mesh was available in SL... even if you use this shortcut, if people are using mesh hair, mesh clothes, they are still shown. However there are "scripted mesh" that actually disappear with this function/shortcut/tool .... so I was wondering if it happens with all scripted mesh because I know that some hair or clothes have HUDs and they can change the color or texture of a part of the mesh and they do not disappear using this function.   12. LOL No cheating, forcing or anything like that. I was thinking in a game idea, a combat meter... there are combat systems (i.e. CCS, DCS2) that their meters are hover texts. However, I wanted something more fancy and instead of creating a combat meter with hover text, it'd have bars representing the Life & Stamina over their heads and they'd increase or decreasing depending on the combat. Thank you for your reply!
  13. The reason why people use to make use (including myself) of the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + Alt + 9 is for removing the prims and having less lag. The thing I was explaining is that some "mesh" clothes I've bought disappear as if they were a prim too when I use that shortcut. The thing that I don't understand is why some clothes/hair/shoes/etc do not disappear and other meshes do... maybe because they're rigged? or maybe because the ones that are supposed to be mesh, are not mesh? So my main point/question was if there's a way a mesh can be scripted but also worn and do not disappear if anyone uses the shortcut (Ctrl + Shift + Alt 9) Thank you for your replies so far!
  14. I think that DCS2 works in any sim but you need to create a profile page every time you go to a sim you're not registered in. DCS2 also costs 72 L$ I guess...
  15. No, I'm referring to press Ctrl + Shift + Alt + 9 for removing prims in your view. You know, the fancy thing about mesh is that it doesn't disappear even if you remove the prims from your view but I've seen meshes that disappear doing it and meshes that do not disappear.   16. Thank you for your replies. And yes I was asking it because of a game idea... I wanted it to be like more fancy with bars over their heads representing Life & Stamina but bars that I could design but yeah, I think the only approach to this concept is the bars with symbols. Thank you again.

Hello there, So you know there's a way for displaying text over your head for example, and ya know... you move closer, you move far, you walk right, left and the hover text changes the size if you're far/closer and you still see the text like if you were in front of it even if you walk wherever you want (I hope I get understood lol) Therefore, I was wondering if that can be done for example with a bar or an image, that you wear it for example over your head, and it would have the same behavior as a hover text. However, the image/bar/whatever would be displayed even if the user remove the particles, prims, etc. Is there any way I can do that? Beforehand, thank you!
  18. Hello there, I'd like to know if is it possible to script a mesh? I've seen mesh that are scripted BUT if you remove the prims, they're removed as well. The thing I wanna know is if you can have a mesh that couldn't be removed from the user's environment by removing prims but it'd have a script.... I don't know if I'm well explained, if not... tell me Beforehand, thank you.

  20. Certainly, there are lack of knowledge by my part. I was just learning the basic of scripting... indeed I do not know how I tried to do a complex script. Second, Thanks for your answer! Thrid: I'm gonna explain for what reason I want this type of script: I'm planning an event... roleplay event. Basically, there will be two teams and only one will have the chance to drop the notecard with notecards inside... I mean, only one team will be able to give their RP notecards attached in one. Then the "Gem" won't accept other drop... this means the "Gem" won't receive the other team notecard because they lost meanwhile the text in the object will change... saying that the other team won with the message "Gem locked!". After this, I as GM will check in the "Gem" who won... getting the notecard from the object's content. ADDED: And I'm looking that I need to allow objects too D: like 6 objects and the notecard with notecards attached. PD: Okay, this is so difficult!
  21. Hello guys! Well, I'm new in LSL... I was trying to make a simple script ( although for me is not simple, this must be simple for you (: ) The script would let the players drop a notecard in an object called "Gem" BUT this would only allow ONE drop. After someone would drop a notecard, the "Gem" wouldn't let drop another thing and the title text may change of color and message from "Gem empty" to "Gem locked!". I saved this and there is an error: (11, 9) : ERROR : Syntax error. I wanna also to make a list of persons that are allowed to drop the notecard BUT I don't have this part yet. Here is the part I have: integer newdrop=0; string empty="Gem empty"; string full="Gem locked!"; default { state_entry() { llSetText(empty,<1,1,1>,1); newdrop=llAllowInventoryDrop(INVENTORY_NOTECARD); if { newdrop == 1; llSetText(full,<1,0,0>,1); newdrop=llAllowInventoryDrop(INVENTORY_NONE); } } } I hope someone could help me.   22. Oh thats sounds great. You have reason. Indeed I had the idea, I had the idea of what I wanted to do... what functions I wanted to put in the object but I did not know how to capture the idea in the script. I'm gonna try the suggestions you gave to me. Thanks much!

  24. Hello guys! Well, I opened this topic because I think this could help new scripters like me. I downloaded a LSL Guide (pdf archive) and this contains basic things of LSL... States, Functions, Arithmetic Operations, LSL Types, Conditional Statements, etc. Therefore one day I tried to make a simple script BUT there was the problem, How to start a script? I did not know how to start, what I needed to declare, what functions I would use. So would be nice that the experienced scripters help us (the new scripters) and tell us how to start. I do not know if there is a method but I'll be glad if you post how you start a script or something like that. Beforehand thanks!
