We run windows 7 x64 in our teaching environment. Students log in to our machines with their own accounts and download a roaming profile when they do so. Not all the hardware in the labs is identical. I note with the lastest version of second life (past ones may have done this as well) that if I go from one machine to another with a different video card then I am notified that I have a different video card than I had on the prior machine and settings have been adjusted. Doing some looking I found the settings.xml file in the users profile location that has the values it refers to and video card name. Is there a way to get the settings to apply silently without notifying me? Is there a better way to handle this? Thanks!
