  1. Wow you're right. I should have double checked the Air specs. It does indeed have a graphics card whereas my New Macbook Pro doesn't even have one. The new Macbook has got a faster i7 processor though. And it does run SL just fine with all the first 5 graphics settings ticked. Very fast and smooth. However, I do feel cheated that I spent all that money on something that is actually less capable than a laptop i bought a couple of years ago. So I called Apple and am exchanging it for the 15" Macbook Pro Retina instead for the same price, quad core instead of dual, and with a NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M graphics card (1GB of GDDR5). Now that should at least be able to tick the other boxes, and be a lot more capable. Thanks for the help guys.
  2. I'm not after your advice on laptop choice. And my Macbook Air handled lighting and shadows, ambient occlusion, and depth of field all activated- yes low fps but still managed it for some great photo's (i only ticked those settings for photography). So there should be no reason why the new Macbook Pro can't especially as it is newer and far more powerful.
  3. On the 13" Macbook Pro there is no option for auto video card switching as it only has a Intel HD 4000 graphics chip. i think there must be some driver issue maybe, as its weird how my 2yr old less powerful Macbook Air can enable those graphics settings no problem.
  4. Sorry, but did you read my post? Its a new Macbook Pro so its a clean install anyway. And yes the allow apps from anywhere option must be selected otherwise it wouldn't have been able to install in the first place. Neither of those have anything to do with the issue of being unable to enable the 3 graphics options when my 2 year old less powerful Macbook Air could.
  5. Getting much better SL performance with my new Retina 13" Macbook Pro compared to my 2 yr old Macbook Air, however I cannot enable Lighting & Shadows, Ambient Occlusion, or Depth Of Field settings. All three are greyed out on High setting (whereas on the Macbook Air, L&S would be available and when ticked, the next would be etc). My OS is updated to the latest version. Is there anything I can do?
  6. Well my 2 year old Macbook Air, which is far less capable, still managed to have those options be enabled as i said. So i know the new Macbook Pro would definitely cope with them
  7. Getting much better SL performance with my new Retina 13" Macbook Pro compared to my Macbook Air, however I cannot enable Lighting & Shadows, Ambient Occlusion, or Depth Of Field settings. All three are greyed out on High setting (whereas on the Macbook Air, L&S would be available and when ticked, the next would be etc). If I try and move from High to Ultra, the app crashes with an error message ERROR: llrender/llrendertarget.cpp(134) : addColorAttachment: Too many color attachments! My OS is updated to the latest version. Is there anything I can do?
  8. I'm using the Mac version (and also Mac beta version has the same issue). I wore a new hairstyle and edited it to move it into place on my head. Then when i wore it again I realised it needed tweaking, but it wouldn't let me edit the hair anymore. Edit is greyed out. A friend of mine this morning wore a dress that had prims needing adjusting, and she said the same- she couldn't edit. Yet she siad she could edit it easily on Phoenix. Sure enough we then both ran Phoenix and were able to edit with no hassle. Is this a bug with v2/beta? or is there a setting somewhere i've missed? Thanks.
  9. Ok, so we can choose who we want to see our feed etc. But i STILL don't want someone as a follower who started following me this morning. I CANNOT remove them from my Followers list. It's MY list, and i DON'T want them on it! I don't care that they now can't see my feed, I don't know them, and want their name gone!
  10. Thanks Chimera. Yes unfortunately I can see a lot of newcomers having this issue on their Mac's and maybe not checking the forum and finding the answer. I hope the developers fix it soon. Now I just have to figure out how the rest of the app works- so many menu's and options lol. Far more complicated than vSide or IMVU, but a lot more scope too by the looks of things
  11. It worked!!!! THANK YOU THERESA!!! I blocked a complete stranger, and immediately afterwards, all my items had notifications appear asking me to Keep or Decline. Not only that, I also had another box appear which included all the teleport requests and friend requests I never received! YAY!!!! I could KISS you!
  12. Ok, so I can just block a stranger temporarily then and that should solve the problem?
  13. I am using a Macbook Air with the latest versions of SL (the official one, Phoenix, and Firestorm) installed. All three have the same issues. Basically I bought this item from the Market Place: Item Page And received the email to say it's been delivered and I just need to log in and Accept or Decline. I logged in for hours since, and nothing has ever come up giving me that option. A friend on Windows tried to help by saying an option should appear at the bottom but nothing has. They also tried sending me an invite to teleport to them, but in the text box of the official viewer it just said it was sent to "Loading..." and didn't do anything. I really want to start using SL (I am new to it) but with these early issues I can't see it being an option. Help?
