I have two 64bit HP workstations, one with an Nvidia geforce 470, 12 gig RAM, and an 8-core processor. They are hard-wired to the router, and my internet connection to them never reads lower than about 18mbs. I also have a far less powerful laptop , 32bit, with a wireless connection. The laptop is usable with SL, but both workstations are so slow, I can almost count the frames as they pass by... ridiculous and unsuable. Yet with HEAVY HD video edition, the workstation perform beautifully. What else could be in the chain if the 64 bit is not a problem?

I have two coputers, one moderate performance on wireless, and the other a monster HP workstation with a graphics card that you list ad a very high performer, and this one is hard-wired to the net. BUT, the low level computer runs SL acceptably, while the powerhouse is so slow it is useless. My connection on that computer is 44ms ping, 20,000kbs download, and 1000kb/s upload. Nvidia GeForce 470 card, 8 core cpu, 8 gigs ram. I am out of ideas, because your lag meter tells me my ping is over 600, while it is actaully aboutt 44.
