  1. The only highlights of that post were the last name contest and the new linden homes themes tbh. The rest is just crap. Doubling the marketplace commission, adding a new premium tier that no one asked for (I'm calling it now: they'll try to remove features from, or add extra fees/restrictions to free and/or classic premium to make Premium Plus seem better. They'll consider taking it back when there's a huge outcry from the users.), making name changes premium-only AND charging an additional fee on top of that... Is LL having that much of a problem keeping the lights on? Oof.

  2. Krankhaus is your #1 best bet for finding grungy/punky clothes for both maitreya and kemono. Other stores do exist, but krankhaus is so good. May also check out Glutz and Oubliette, but they're more goth.

Sure. I now use Corel Painsthop Pro 2019   BUT I am pretty sure that I made my garments using PhotoImpact (now gone sadly). These aren't fancy programs so it seems like other software would have that feature.  I can't find anything in Paintshop Pro that would be equivalent and their "warp" has no way to to adjust manually.

What Photo impact did was to place a grid (looking much like a UV grid so transparent with lines)on top of your graphic and then you could move little squares at each of the corners to sort of drag the pixels in that area over to where they needed to be.   I would assume powerful programs like Photoshop would have something similar.

I was trying to find a screenshot of the tool but Google is sending me FAR FAR astray.

Hopefully someone will write with info on a more current product.  Good luck. I know it is an issue and most fishnet things do NOT match up at the seams. Usually folks make another seam where you would have sewn the fishnet together. So it doesn't need to match. That might be a way to go.

Alright! Well thanks for the info regardless! A shame that there's no easy way. It would have been nice to make other textures seamless as well. Oh well!

You can use something like the "warp" tool (my software) to move the ends of your fishnet to the appropriate line and match that line on the other side. This is very time consuming and as far as I know, no way to make your new texture into a "template" that could be reused.  I HAVE done this LOL but long ago when we all wore texture clothing. It is a tedious job so if you are making it for profit rather than love, it might be more time spent than you want. There may be another way, but I don't know it. Good luck.

May I ask which program you use?

  5. Hi! I'm trying to make a fishnet top with an omega applier, and I want the front and back to be seamless at the side. The UV map (included below) doesn't have the front and back of the body touching seamlessly, obviously, and has many curves, so I obviously can't just pattern my texture over the entire thing and hope for the best. Is there a way to make my texture line up perfectly without pulling my hair out? Preferably a method that would work with other textures as well, as I've had this problem before with other things.

I've been here almost a year now (and I'm working on my rezz day speech). In the beginning it took a huge leap of faith for me to make that first post, not just here but anywhere on the forums. But I was made so welcome by the regulars, that I felt confident enough to post my 'point and click' images. It's mot so long that I began using Windlight, in January this year, and I completely understand how hard it is to get to that point.

I always make sure that I welcome new posters, because we need to make them as welcome as I was made, and help everybody develop their skills and raise the bar. There's no doubt that we all encourage each other to do better and we see some amazing images now.

So far I haven't made the magic 30, but increasing numbers mean that mid twentys will soon be the norm. The whole thing is growing and the bigger it gets, the bigger it will get! It amazes me that with so many people in SL, and so many SL flickr accounts, so few post on here. I don't get that, but hey, what do I know!  :)

This place has basically become a combination of showing off avatar looks, and the old "Show off your Snaps" thread! It's good fun trying to frame the right shot to showcase your avatar and create a piece others will enjoy! I think that's what draws in all us flickr accounts, anyway. As for the rest, it's just fun to show off! We put so much time, effort, and money into our avatars, and the world out there is fairly empty. When you combine the sparsely populated grid with avatar complexity limits, it's not all that likely that any given one of us will be seen and really actually looked at by 20+ people (let alone have all of those people toss us a message and tell us they like what they see) before we decide to change up our look. It's rewarding and encouraging, and helps us all push each other to get better at SL Photography and avatar creation.

To add: It's an interesting insight into SL fashion/photography and how trends change over time. Hell, this place has even been a bit of a trendsetter in its own right recently, with the superhero fad and the bunny brigade!

    - Amber's Apples

I almost forgot about Amber's Apples! They have some really cute stuff! I remember stumbling upon them the first time before I got a boi chest and being a bit sad that my favorite dress from them didn't have a regular maitreya fit. Now I can go buy it!

Glutz is a new one for me, so thanks for that. […]

This post was AWESOME! Thank you for sharing! If anyone else has anything to add, please, by all means!

A small note about Lumae: Not all of their skins include a version without cleavage shading for v-tech users. When I got my boi chest, I was disappointed to find out that my Eritae skin didn't have a v-tech option, though my Elentari skin did. Always double check the signs and such. They're an absolute steal right now at 100L each though!

  9. By gender neutral designers, I mean designers who make clothes that are unisex, or traditionally gendered but for opposite gendered bodies as well as the ones you'd expect. (Dresses for Signature Jake and Maitreya Lara, Designers making clothes for the V-Tech Boi Chest plus normal Maitreya, standard sized clothes with both flat chest and breast options, etc).

With that in mind, who are some of your favorites? I've been happy to see Glutz get into making Boi Chest clothing lately! Boys to the Bone is pretty rad for streetwear. Krankhaus is AMAZING for emo, goth, and punk styles! Looking for more recommendations! I saw someone had recently mentioned on here that there aren't a ton of designers out there, so let's get 'em all in one place for easy reference!

Then: "I don't do ....." statements be it Drama, @geplay, sex, boyfriends, collars.... they are red flags that the person does exactly those things. If you really don't do those things then there really is no need to tell people.

Since adding a statement to my profile about not doing SL sex, the amount of random people messaging me looking for a domme/sub/girlfriend/sex/escort/etc has been reduced to almost none. I used to get one or more a day every day.

"Real person behind avatar reminder" Guilty as charged. In all fairness though, I frequently roleplay a robot character who acts very stoic/nonhuman. I get confused for a bot all the time. The wording for me is, "Yes, i'm a real person in here, promise" iirc.

  11. I was wondering if it is possible to use environment settings you create yourself as your parcel defaults on firestorm so that other (firestorm at least) users can see it as well when they arrive? The sky setting I created was made within firestorm itself and saved as a new sky preset. I've gotten it to work on my end, but friends don't see it.

Perhaps there's another way to do it that I don't know of? I've gotten non-custom sky settings to work before in this manner. My current method is to add /*Sky:"[preset name]"RegionOverride*/ to the parcel's description.

  12. Let sellers add multiple tags instead of one category and let users also self-tag items they see without seeing what others have suggested as tags. If some (unknown to the users, so as not to be gamed by trolls) amount of users suggest the same exact tag, it gets added. The creator could view these tags and report false or abusive tags on their items.

I feel like that would solve a LOT of the issue and make the marketplace way easier to browse. Buuut it would require a compete overhaul of the current system, so I doubt LL would be willing.
