BEfore the introduction os mesh there were still copybotters, people with no ethics or creativity of their own that felt the need to capitolise on other peoples hard work, but since the introduction of mesh and second life blender plug ins that seem to allow instant rigging of models with very little work I have seen a MASSIVE influx of game ported models. Armor, weapons, COMPLETE avatars, landscape items, the list goes on and on and Linden Labs has done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to prevent this. WHY? I mod video gam,es legally and create unique meshes with the tools provided but I could rig litterally 90k models ripped from video games and make a killing on mp doing it, but I HAVE ETHICS! Why are these people even allowed to keep their accounts? What they have done violates terms of service not to mention LAWS! Them making money off selling these as avatars is theft of intellectual property and then unless it infringese DIRECTLY on you there is no means of reporting them. Like this guy! This is a prime example, the entire store is rips from Metal Gear 5 (Raiden and the White Ninja Darpa armor), The Protectors of Middle earth a EA game release (Saron), The cars are all ripped directly from Forza motor sports, Nord Armor is from Skyrim Dragonborn DLC, Master Chief from Halo, Leon from Resident evil, I believe that is the model frrom Survior AND THAT IS JUST THE FIRST PAGE! I could litterally like 50+ stores I see this crap in and IT NEEDS TO STOP! Linden labs needs to institue a way to report Ported ILLEGAL content and swing a ban hammer directly to the thieves faces, report the "creators" of this b.s. to the companies that have copyrighted these models so they can be sued and take this stuff seriously, because if Capcom got wind of even 1 of their trademarked models being used in another game without the appropriate fees being paid they would sue you all back to teh stoneage!
