Hello. I am having issues with my rigged mesh. I created the model in blender 2.49, rigged it using the file I downloaded from the Standard Sizing package. It has all 21 necessary bones + skull, toes and eyes (not sure if deleting them helps or not). In Blender, it bends and folds as I expect, but when I import it, the thing is mangled to hell. Only the right arm is correct. To run you through my process, I started working on the model in one file. After getting it all worked out, I append linked the model into the file that held the armature and used a script to copy bone weights. I still had to do some weight painting to tweak the bone heats, so I did rotate it around the z axis in order to take advantage of x-mirroring, but I rotated it back before exporting for Collada.I preserved the original T pose as well. My model, the base avatar and the armature are all on different layers (though I doubt that has any impact, I just want to be thorough in my explanation). Now, I have heard many conflicting things about export and upload, so I tried several different suggested methods. Firstly, using collada export 1.31 does nothing for me, so I tried 1.4 version with [triangles] [selection only] and [apply modifiers] ticked as was suggested in this thread. I get a nice model, but no bone weights. I am unable to tick [include skin weight] in the upload box. Finally, I heard that blender 2.63 has a compatible collada exporter, so I downloaded that version, loaded up my files and used the exporter. I get a nice model, and can tick the [skin weight] box in the uploader, but the mesh gets crazy mangled as I mentioned above. Out of curiosity, I deleted the unnecessary vertex groups and tried again, but that time, skin weights caused the model to turn on its side. Also, I am attempting to upload in the Firestorm Viewer 4.01.27 if that makes a difference (I've heard conflicting accounts). Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have searched through several threads, used google, and tried to figure things out on my own to no avail. Thank you in advanced.
