I've just downloaded a copy and installed 977. Streaming media is still non-functional. It reports the unenlightening message that media_plugin_webkit failed. This has been the message for all clients except 2.5, which does not report an error- it just doesn't work. I do like that 977 reports that it wishes to connect to a server when starting. Apparently the client does indeed connect, it just doesn't play.

That would be a no. I don't have muted on. I have played with those settings as a matter of fact. I have an alt avatar that does readings with voice and that control has proved to be important to me. But that is not the problem here.

The controls are there. I can toggle Start All, Stop etc. I can go into preferences and apparently select devices, input and output. No joy.

I have recently lost all streaming from my SL clients. This includes Phoenix, Imprudence and viewer 2.5, which I am currently using. This occurred immediately after an automatic upgrade was issued. I am using Ubuntu Lucid. Streaming works fine in all other apps on my system. In order to enjoy music from SL I need to copy the music URL into Rhythmbox but since most sims hide this url I am out of luck. I have gone so far as to replace the pulseaudio libraries with the latest alsa libraries. No joy. What is the prefered configuration for a Linux system. Do I need to compile my own client? Thanks.
