So a bit of backstory first. I was contacted some time ago by a person asking me if I wanted to make a lot of money. My first reaction was to roll my eyes and say whatever, but for a lark I decided to listen. What he was asking for was for me to build him a number of custom, full permissions builds that he would then have someone else script and then he would sell the finished package. He was offering me an up front payment for the build and then 20 to 50% cut of the profits once they sold to the end user. I did some checking and he did indeed have a business and seemed to sell the type of items he was asking for so I agreed to give it a try and went to work. He did pay me for the original up front amount agreed upon and continued to assure me that I would be receiving a cut of the profit on the finished project. Time's gone by now, and I haven't received any further profit sharing paments from him. I figured the items just weren't selling until I was contacted by the scriptor he used, informing me that the items are indeed selling but the scriptor and I are not recieving the originally promised profit percentage. The scriptor is now asking me to give THEM full permissions copies of the same builds, so that they can sell them at a somewhat reduced price from the first guy, and give me a cut of that. I contacted the fellow who originally contracted me and asked him about the profit percentage. He claims that he never made any such agreement, so I showed him that chat logs that clearly refuted that claim. He then claimed that he paid me for things I never delivered, one item in particular which I then brought up the SLX page that shows clearly, that item for sale under his name. He is refusing to pay me, saying he doesn't owe me anything, and the items are still up on the marketplace making him a nice tidy sum of money. My question is, is there anything I can do about this? I don't even want to trust the scriptor at this point because who knows if he's just going to take the full perm items and rip me off there too. Do I have any options here?
