Ich habe heute zwei Spam-Mails (NICHT von LL !) an Email-Adressen bekommen, die ich für die SL-Account von zwei Alts benutze. Eine der beiden Email-Adressen habe ich *ausschliesslich* für einen SL-Account benutzt. Da ich meine Mail-Server selber hoste kann der Spammer zumindest diese eine Adresse *nur* von LL haben, da die sonst niemand anders bekannt ist. Mir ist dasselbe schon mal vor circa einem Monat passiert. Da war aber eine andere Adresse betroffen, die ich aber ebenfalls ausschliesslich für einen SL-Account benutzt habe. (Wenn ich mich bei irgendwelchen Webseiten anmelde benutze ich für jeden Account eine eigene Email-Adresse die ich mir auch in einer Textdatei notiere, so dass ich eindeutig nachvollziehen kann welche Email-Adresse ich für welchen Account auf welcher Webseite benutzt habe) Bisher kamen alle der Spam-Mails an für SL benutzte Email-Adressen, in deutscher Sprache. Da alle betroffenen Email-Adressen auf .de Domains liegen kann das natürlich daran liegen. Die heute per Spam-Mail beworbene Webseite (lifecoversave.com mit laut Selbstdarstellung Geschäftszweck "permission-based marketing") ist jedoch in USA registriert und der Inhalt der Webseite ist in Englisch. Ist dies außer mir noch jemand passiert? Hat es bei LL ein Datenleck gegeben von dem ich bisher nichts gehört habe? Oder verkauft SL etwa sogar EMail-Adressen? Ich nehme diese Sache SEHR ernst. Wenn schon meine Email-Adressen bei LL nicht sicher sind, dann frage ich mich natürlich wie es mit der Sicherheit all der anderen Daten aussieht. Meine Passwörter habe ich jedenfalls schon mal vorsorglich geändert.

Ok, the only reason I actually tested this is to see how bad SL can screw up again. Short answer: VERY bad. Here my points of criticism: 1) According to the "beta agreement" you (or that other company, I forgot the name) can use ANY information that you gather about me or my computer in ANY way you want. Well, the most critical point here for me was my email-adress so I quickly made up a fake one. I NEVER would have given you my real email-adress under these circumstances. I didn't read all of the beta-agreement. Way too long. You should NOT ask people to agree to that long a text just to being able to HELP you! Did you get this? YOU want other people's help! So treat them with respect! NEVER try to screw them! 2) Then a message pops up that an applet wants to have access to my computer. No mentioning why or what for. I only proceeded out of curiosity. But I was already very pi**ed at that point. 3) Next I get asked if I want Firefox to allow incoming connections. Yikes. Yet another point that causes me alarm. But still, curiousity prevailed and I allowed this. 4) Firefox crashes. Conclusion: You lost. I will NEVER try this piece of software again. I have tested a LOT of beta-software over the years, but never has any of those asked me to ignore security in so many ways and on top of that not even worked.
