  1. So, Houston, is that what Lance was getting at? (And thanks, I appreciate your info!)
  2. Lance, I'm not sure I understand what you are saying here. Please educate me (and others), because now I'm totally confused.
  3. I voted and commented on this, but I do have a question. I noticed your frames per second didn't change with the slider pushed to the limit. I DID see the world rez a lot faster, and I DID see your bandwidth climb measureably. But I always notice with lag, my FPS drops drastically, hovering below 10, and when I'm not lagging much, my FPS is around mid 20's. If changing the bandwidth isn't affecting the FPS, how is this helping with lag? Perhaps I need a smack for missing something. My apologies. But I am curious.
  4. Well, yes, I'm sure you are right, but they keep showing up on the main page of the blogs, which is where I see them daily... page 1, 2, 3, 4, 5... almost every page currently shows spam spam spam.
  5. Hi. I would agree if the post(s) is/were not still there, but it/they is/are still there. Thanks for your reply
  6. Ok, I am trying to AR someone on the forum (you know, the spam spam spam), but every time I try, I get "An Unexpected Error has Occurred" in big bold letters, with a blank white rounded-corner box below it.  If I hit 'Back', my text is still there, so I click again, and nothing.  But this time, text appears in the box that says, "This form has already been processed or was missing a token."  So, I go back to the spam post, and look where the button says "Report Abuse" and it hasn't changed to "Abuse Reported."  So I assume, I was missing a token. Does anyone know what this means?  Or, better yet, how to fix it??  I am really trying to keep the ARs going on the spam posts, because I love to do my part.. and well, now I can't!  Oh, I am now using Firefox with all the latest updates, and have given up entirely on IE.
  7. Hi It's version 7. I just realized there is a version 8, but I'm not going to install it yet. I'd rather continue to test this other browser (which is firefox btw), for a little while to see if I'm going to like it . Do you think maybe something went wrong in my IE or windows perhaps? I haven't done much differently, it just simply stopped working.
  8. Hi. I've already done the Java thing.. with no success. And, this new browser works perfectly with no errors, and reports the Java Virtual Machine and required plug in is all up to date. It appears to 'me' that it might be some weird glitch in Internet Explorer. I may end up stopping my addiction to IE if this keeps up, lol.... This new browser is ... well, kinda sleek and has no errors so far Thankyou for your reply!!!!
  9. Hello. In the last few weeks, I've had severe problems with being able to do things on sl.com and the forums due to "Errors on the Page."  Here's just a small example: Line: 107 Char: 21 Error: Object doesn't support this property or method Code: 0 URL: http://blogs.secondlife.com/message/message# Line: 180 Char: 9 Error: 'Zapatec' is undefined Code: 0 URL: http://blogs.secondlife.com/message/message# Line: 3221 Char: 24 Error: Object expected Code: 0 URL: http://blogs.secondlife.com/message/message# Constantly get:  Done but with errors on the page (in the bottom left corner of every page on for Second Life), but other sites on the web work fine. Pages never load the "Similar Content" area. I can't start a new post, and no links at the top work, including: New, Your Stuff, History, Browse These links work however:  Ewer Short, Log Out, Search When I try to load my own profile: Line: 2432 Char: 24 Error: Object Expected Code: 0 URL: http://blogs.secondlife.com/people/Ewer.Short I can't start a new discussion, and I can't access the report abuse feature on blog posts. The list of errors is much longer, but you get the idea.  I reluctantly decided to try a different browser.  And guess what?  Everything works, with no errors.  I'm not too fussy about using another browser, as I like and prefer Internet Explorer.  I have all my windows updates, am using Vista Home Premium with the latest service pack, and no beta on IE, just the most recent current version.  JVM is current and working fine.  I'm at a loss to explain this.  If not for installing this "other browser," I wouldn't even be able to post this question! Any ideas or suggestions would be very much appreciated. Thanks
  10. Hi, Leeorie Thank u for replying to my post!!! I hope u get ur issue resolved, cuz wow, i have no clue on that! sorry! My regular viewer is still working, but the pictures have been gone LOL... I finally gave up trying to figure it out, and just accepted it I guess. I refuse to use 2.0 until it's forced on me, because I tried it.. I gave it a week of playing with it, and found it to be big, clunky, gawdy looking crap that is hard to navigate, and causes me to crash and lock up. I'm shocked they made this the default for new sign ups! WOW. Anyway, having the log in pictures aint THAT important LOL! Best of luck with your issue. SMILES
  11. Either you are a genius, or you're a genius.. either way, ur a genius! It worked! Can u plz contact me in-world??? I wanna hug you... im not kidding!
  12. Still no response on the ticket I opened with LL. If anyone has any other suggestions, I'm willing to try anything! I'm very worried about this
  13. No luck I am standing here totally nude, no hair, no ao, no huds, no clothes, no attachments, nothing. Still the same problem. Excuse me, I need to go get dressed! LOL
  14. LOL! Had you suggested being with me while I test your idea, I would have had a different response... LOLOL... however, since you haven't and it's a good idea, I will try it now thanks for your suggestion
  15. I sure do appreciate your help so far. I will open a ticket now, but being non-premium, I doubt they will do much to help. And, yes, I'll report back here IF a solution is found. Thanks again.
  16. I did the following: 1. Went to the secondlife folder, and deleted the folder called Ewer Short 2. Manually cleaned the cache folder 3. Restarted SL using the standard 123 viewer... 4. Dropped a prim, created a new script, made a change and tried to save it. 5. Result: same error as before: Unable to upload, c:\ <path><file.lsl> due to the following reason: Compile failed. Please try again later. I'm very worried.
  17. Bad news I have done the following steps: 1. created two folders: 123_cache, and V2_cache 2. started the standard 123 viewer, changed the path to the 123_cache folder 3. restarted the viewer, logged on, and tested a default LL script in a rezzed object, and in inventory 4. result: same error 5. started V2.0, changed path to the V2_cache folder 6. restarted the viewer, logged on, and tested a default LL script in a rezzed object, and in inventory 7. result: same error 8. logged into an alt account, tested saving script. works fine on alt account, in both viewers.
  18. Hi Just got back from work, and saw ur suggestion... gonna try it right now! CROSS UR FINGERS!
  19. Ok, for giggles, I checked Viewer 2.0... which, unrelated to this issue, I hafta say OMG YUCK, ... but anyway, I tried viewer 2.0 and still the same problem. Exactly same error. Please, if anyone has an idea, please reply.
  20. Here's something interesting too...I usually see this occasionally, too, but like you, usually just save again, and it's fine. If it's an asset server problem, waiting for it to be resolved works. But I can save normally on another account, so I'm wondering if maybe something has gone wrong with my account? When I do save, and I get the error, I then get a rotating circle hour glass, and it won't go away unless I tp away from where I was. It's almost like something is 'stuck' somehow. No matter what sim I try to go to, I can't save any scripts. This is very alarming. Thanks for your reply.
  21. I uninstalled and reinstalled the viewer, even got the regular one, instead of the release candidate (which i've been using forever), and still no luck. I even trashed the 'cache' folder and still no luck. Thank you for your reply.
  22. Addition: Here is the error I'm getting: Unable to upload c:\users\<myname>\appdata\local\secondlife\<hexfile>.lsl due to the following reason: Compile failed. Please try again later. NOTE: I tried it on an alt, and I'm not having any problem there. Any ideas? Anyone?
  23. Hi, since returning to SL, I have suddenly started having a problem... I can't save scripts!  I can click on "create" and "script" and get the default linden script, and I can also create one in an object.  But as soon as I try to alter the script and save it, I get a compile error.  It doesn't matter if it's a 3 line script or a 300 line script.  It don't matter if I choose MONO or LSL, it still don't work.  I can't even open an exsisting script and save it.  Same error.  I've tried clearing every type of cache, and still no luck.  I can upload to SL fine (pictures), and I can export out of SL.  I can also create and save notecards fine.  There have been no recent software changes, no upgrades to the new viewer (still using the 1.23.??), and no changes on my computer.  Can someone please help? BTW:  I was fine until 2 days ago. It just started happening.
  24. Hi, Bo. Although the original viewer problem was not resolved, you DID provide a solution... another viewer! LOL... Snowglobe seems to be working fine, and honestly looks very close to what I had anyways. So, I marked your post as the answer...indirectly, the RC viewer could be buggy, meaning your solution was the best
