    LL thanks Club Carnage for turning 8 years old this month

    I have always been on LL side, cheering them on, making excuses. Anyone that knows me knows I am a fair optimistic person.

    Today I am sending this to all my staff, customers and our almost 8,000 VIPS:

    I ask that you help me keep the rumor mill down by telling anyone that asks that CLUB CARNAGE IS NOT CLOSING.

    Due to unforeseen business circumstances, namely a significant and unexpected drop-off in business over the last several months due to LL failure to move our destination from the old sim to here, Club Carnage will be closing its facility and discontinuing its operations on Flagg sim as of midnight Dec 31 2013.

    RL is also partly to blame (DAMN RL!).  I have a terminal illness and recently my husband was involved in several accidents. We do not know if he will ever be able to work again.  We are dissolving the trucking company that we own. Things are bad but we'll be ok.

    I can no longer have the premium accounts so we can no longer have the place Carnage is on.

    Justoff has graciously opened his land for us to use.

    We will be moving the club over New Years break and events will resume there Jan 2.

    There are SOME things there already but it is a work in progress.

    Linden Lab has broken my heart and took our beloved club from us. I fought but lost. I thought having 4 premium accounts and a club that has been in business 8 years would have some bearing on getting LL to help us. It didn't. I was wrong.

    I have been seeking, but have been unable to, through NUMEROUS emails, tickets, phone calls and even faxes to get LL to move our SLURL on destinations, which would allow us to continue our operations. People trying to come here go instead to a Welcome Center.

    I realize that this decision will cause hardship to our staff, customers and sponsors and trust me, if there was another way I would do it.

    We are one of  the oldest club in Second Life and everyone that ever worked here are a part of that and should hold their head up high. Without each of you we would never have made it this far!

    But they can't stop us and we will go on better than ever!

    TY for responding and Ive already done all that:

    I needed the SLUrl changed in DESTINATIONS so I submitted a ticket but was told it was not their department, that I needed to email the editor, which I did 5x. and requested that they simply change our SLUrl in DESTINATIONS....now, 5 emails later and over 60 days later people searching for my club are taken to a welcome center because the sim I owned no longer exists.

    Because the sim no longer exists and the destination is invalid our posts for events are not showing up either.

    Club here since 05 needs help with how to fix a problem!

    Just an update.

    I phoned LL today

    RECORDED MESSAGE"Please press 1 for Customer Service

    I pressed 1

    RECORDED MESSAGE:THat is not a valid number. Please try again later *click*

    I called back and tried # 2, 3, 0 and a bunch of other numbers and got a mailbox of the LL Operator????

    I faxed them a request to respond.

    I have ALWAYS gotten prompt friendly service from LL on all matters over the years. This really has me stumped.

    I was diagnosed with a terminal illness and could no longer afford a whole sim on SL. I had to pay for medicine. For the first time in 7 years, I had to move my club.

    We were doing well before the move. We had good crowds...nothing spectacular, but then it hasn't been spectacular since 07.

    I needed the SLUrl changed in DESTINATIONS so I submitted a ticket but was told it was not their department, that I needed to email the editor, which I did 5x. and requested that they simply change our SLUrl in DESTINATIONS....now, 5 emails later and over 60 days later people searching for my club are taken to a welcome center because the sim I owned no longer exists.

    Because the sim no longer exists and the destination is invalid our posts for events are not showing up either.

    I am at my wits end.

    I have sponsors pulling out, staff quitting and the lucky ones that DO manage to find us, not staying because the club is empty and because we do not have the traffic.

    I was reading in the forums where a guy that owned a store had the same trouble and after a year of emailing and trying to get help finally gave up and closed his business.

    This club has been around since 2005. I refuse to give up easy.

    Does anyone know of anything I can do to remedy this?

    Sl is a great place to be but I am losing the faith!

    What happened to imagination?

    I will prolly get tarred and feathered and run out of town on a rail but I HATE MESH! I DO realize it is still in the beginning stages and has come a long way just in the short time it has been out.

    Mesh beats all the others hands down as far as looks, but wearability - it has a LONG ways to go.

    Mesh hair looks like globs of modelling clay layng on your head. The texture is great, but it looks horrible. It reminds me of the hair before flexi hair came out. It just lays there. Is this really a step forward or back?

    And as for female clothing....what a nightmare!
    I don't want to look like every other woman in SL. I want to look like me.
    I can't have big boobs IRL, so I have them in SL! (I could but hubby refuses to remortgage the house for a boob job.)
    I don't want to look exactly like the clothing makers. I want to look like me.
    I have even bought things that the maker sent along a copy of their shape so I could look exactly like them! O M G!I want to look like me
    Of all the mesh I have recently purchased 75% will not work.

    Physics are great...your boobs jiggle, your but wiggles, but physics with mesh? Forget it. Impossible unless you want your parts jiggling out of your clothes with every step.

    Kudos to all the wonderful clothing makers slaving over keeping up with all the latest fads and fashions, but for me, sorry but rarely does anything mesh work.

    7 year Rant

    At the risk of being redundant, I am reposting last year's rant, as none of the things I ranted about last year have been fixed (LOL) LL is making my yearly rants easy. I cant just copy/paste/edit the prior one!

    I have just celebrated my 7th year rez day on SL.

    Thank you LL for giving me this incredibly wonderful place to be.
    And TY for allowing me to rant on here once a year!
    Last year I aired a rant and may make this a yearly thing!
    Where do I start? The viewers are just nuts anymore. I have been here 7 years and can't figure out how to use them. I feel so very sorry for anyone new coming on and trying. I don't know the statistics but I imagine fewer and fewer have been coming and staying. And not that I blame them when you have to view a tutorial to even dress.
    Phoenix had a fantastic idea! They created a very user friendly viewer and thousands, maybe even tens of thousands of people moved to it.
    Then what happened?
    Someone thought "Well since tens of thousands came here to get away from V2 and because they like the interface here - Let's make it like the viewer they came here to get away from! DONE! Now Firestorm is almost exactly like V3.
    And group chat still does not work but we got FUI!
    Instead of fixing what the people liked using and making sure it was working optimally, they give us shinies. "Chat not working? Here, have another new button you can push!" Lag unbearable, here is a new toy to use!"
    SL got popular for a reason. People liked it! They liked what was offered. As time went on and we had more and more shinies and less and less of what people liked, people started to not come to SL as much.
    It broke my heart to watch as we were handed more and more shinies and the things that enticed people to come, fall in love with SL and stay started to crumble and fall apart.
    But thats ok! They gave us a new way to name avatars! The old way worked! People loved it BUT someone decided it needed changed.
    I have seen many many changes in Sl and few have been as ill conceived as this one. I am expecting any minute to see 1234567890John1234567890 Resident. (and yes I know that many letters would not be allowed.) Sl goofed big time on this one.
    IMO if people wanted their names changed, LL should charge them to change it.
    Marriages ceremonies are one of the most lucrative venues on SL...hardly a week goes by that I am not invited to a wedding. Jane Doe marries John Smith...charge her to change her name to Jane Smith! Next week she marries Bill Brown...more money for SL! Don't like the stupid name you gave yourself? Charge them to change it!
    We DO need new fresh ideas to maintain popularity and draw new people but please fix the things that made SL popular to start with THEN give us shinies!
    In closing, thank you for reading my ranting and who knows, maybe next rez day I'll feel the urge to air my pent up rantings again!

    My brain would explode if I tried to enable all the features on some of the viewers. Why do people need to know all this? Does It give them more things to worry about?

    I feel LL are always striving to help the populace of SL.

    The sound quality and graphics in Viewer 3 is unsurpassed of any of the MANY viewers I have tried.

    I have never seen this question asked before and hope the Lindens in charge of this will maybe read yours and my requests and someday implement some of the more popular wants!

    My wants are few. I'm hoping its not just me and do not expect the world to change because of some change I personally want, but if enough people ask for it..Maybe? Maybe? Ya think? Maybe???

    ** This one is important..I would use SL Viewer instead of a 3rd party one if I could have the option to have full line text instead of my text squeezed over in the left corner. Personal preference I know, but I prefer this! Hopefully others do as well.

    I would use SL Viewer instead of a 3rd party one if the menus were stackable. If you play a lot with Xcite part ( I DO! I DO!) its a pain to (pg rated here) scratch the other persons' ear, click another box, kiss their cheek, go back and click 1st box, touch their ear, go back to 2nd box,...see what I mean? Phoenix had this, Firestorm does not! I miss it! Can we please have this?

    I would use SL Viewer instead of a 3rd party one if it had radar. I know a lot see radar as intrusive. I use it as a tool to see if someone is in the mall needing help, if someone landed at the jobs kiosk and may have a question. I imagine people would abuse it though. I looked where I shouldn't have one time and have been traumatized ever since. EWWWWW.

    I'm coming up on 7 years in SL this year and plan to stay here as long as my health will allow.

    Sure there are bad things but the good far outweigh the bad.

    I love our little world here . Quite a great place huh?

    OH I almost forgot - I would use SL Viewer instead of a 3rd party one if it had Vertical tabs for Ims please.
