I have a strange error in my dekstop pc every time that a client need update even if I delete the viewer and set up a new file I have initializing vfs.
I have download the new drivers of my graphic card delete in the app data file everything is common to second life restart the pc and I have initializing vfs in all mesh viewers .
The only viewers that I can play is text viewers and imprudence v 1.3.1 I know that is not hardware problem of my pc because I was run succesfull the last 2 months kokua viewer and second life viewer v3 , but every time that there is an update I have this problem . Any idea ;
To Nyll Bergbahn : there is a basic difference acorrding to your link it says to delete the Asus Gamer OSD but I have asus graphic card if I delete the driver it will broke the pc and I must look to set up again the driver.

ok I have at my laptop ubuntu 13.4 because it is more stable and faster than 7 my laptop is HP Compaq CQ 60 i download the second life folder double click the second life icon and this action open a notecard with some codes , I download the jdk 7 but the same action happend , so what is wrong and second life does not run?
Is any way to run second life from terminal? I test to terminal write( ./secondlife ) but nothing happend

I was having the last viewer of Second Life V3 and Installing the New update without delete first the last . Now I have test 3 different viewers the only that is working is Metabolt . All the others crash, when my screen show a gray box with initializing VFS message. I delete the Second Life folder in the App folder . I use CCleaner to make a registry cleaner and delete everything about second life viewer and I Update twice my drivers graphical card. My last step was to make an exception from my antivirus and windows firewall and still second life crash on initializing VFS my PC is

I do not know what else I have to do and why this stuck , any idea.
Thanks for the time that you give me to read this message .Part 2 Thanks for your answer's but I know that my pc is old but it was working in low graphical mode but it was working, And I can not put linux because in the same I have a small proxy and I am running my security cameras so if I put linux I will loose my cameras.
Part 3 problem solved for me I run radegast it was working good but without voice and I test imprudence too and is working nice,without mesh but is working nice so my problem for me has end.

It starts with initializing VFS it stuck and crash. I have test 3 viewers SL V3, Phoenix , and Singularity , I made a question here .

I do the solution that suggest me and delete the Second life Folder in the App. Folder
now the Second Life V3 have the same problem and the other viewers crash without opening , I noticed that too, the others viewers did not great any folder in the app folder .
Any idea ???

The are 3 easy jobs. There are fast ,you earn lindens fas,t and if you are good to that. You can gain 1000 L .
The first is host in party , easy job you will just party , nothing more , nothing else you will welcome the people in the club and drag them in your enthusiastic nirvana.
The second is model It is often if you look little more carefully agents looking for models without experience . You can easily gain 300 or 400 L and have the experience of a model event from inside.
The third is only if you are adult and you must find a club and a pole . I am not continue .. But I am sure you understand.

I have 3 pc in one of my 3 pc's ( windows xp home edition) I have this problem that happend , I do not know how .
I look it in support and in questions here , and I did the steps that suggest me . I have test 3 viewers SL V3, phoenix , singularity ,Firestorm, delete the cache in app folder , restart my pc and try to open but I have the same problem again and again , I redownload Visual C++ and net framework 3.5 the problem stay the same . I can login with metabolt but not with any other 3d viewer.

thanks for the advice but nothing help . I did the first solution and it says me that something is missing and I must reinstall the viewer.I did it and it says me the same error
I do the second solution and now I noticed that all the viewers that I have test they do not great the folder in the app folder so I stuck on initializing VFS with 2 errors something is missing and this is the folder with the name of the viewer in app folder. I try again Second Life viewer V3 , phoenix and Singularity. I have the same result.

You can run second life in your andoid phone, not exactly in your mobile phone but you can control your avi and write with 3d viewer via stream
Find and test a program that via wifi can stream your pc or laptop screen in your mobile android phone , then try to open the second life from your mobile phone it will open and run fast with 3d view I have sonny xperia x10 mini and the graphics was better from my small xperia than my HP intel card graphic laptop

my voice is dissabl by force . I can not speak to voice echo Canyon

after update of avast I do not have voice in any viewer in the official viewers 1 and 2 it tells me to close the sl before open a new or restart the system. I restart the system and it gives me the same message if I make the trick with
--multiplethat torley said in a youtube video. I will loose my voice , in preference it tell me voice chat is not avaliable
I am editing again the question to answer to your questions the message in sl official viewers is the Second Life is already running.
Check your Task bar for a minimize of the programi. If this message persists, restart your computer.
I am restart my computer and it tells me the same .After the trick of torley it opens but in preference it itells me that voice chat is not avaliable. and this happend in any viewer I am using.
And last I have change the rythm both to avast and to windows firewall to make an exception to sl viewers

I have an old pc and I can not run the official viewer of sl 1 & 2 I found the solution on snowglobe and it was cool fast rez no lag everything was ok after 1 week suddenly without reason the snowglobe crash.It do not open ,seems to try to rez and crash in start bar without open.I test in my laptop too the same in 2 days.
