Login issue

Hi everyone!

Hi. I have a problem with my login. I have just installed the SL viewer on my Mac Book Pro and created an account. Since two days I am not able to login into SL and get always the message: Despite oru best efforts, something unexpected has gone wrong. Please check... etc."

 

Now, I tried the following things:

- Checked router for closed ports

- Tried other viewers

- Changed DNS server

- Checked username and password on website (works)

- Created another user account (does also not work)

- Changed video settings

- Used the email-link to ensure my account is activated

- Checked server status (I don't see any issue related to my problem)

- Changed location many times to several different ones

- Did a speedtest (seems fine)

 

I don't have a firewall. I am using MacBook Pro, Intel Core i5, 2.53 GHz,  4 GB, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M and have a broadband connection in Hong Kong.

Now, I am running out of ideas. Can you help me?

Are you using wireless? Use a regular cable instead by all means. SL doesnt like wireless at all. If it doesn't fix your problem, you may try an approved third party viewer. Just my two cents... :smileywink:

Hi valerie!

Hmm.. surprising. I haven't thought of that. With cable I had some more DNS error messages but I fixed it by adding two additional DNS servers: 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220

So, it seems to work now on firestorm. Thanks.

Great. These are indeed the correct DNS for Mac. :smileyhappy:
