Newest download DOESN'T work.

Hi,

I just did the recent update package for windows vista system and was a little... Uhm, upset to say the least when I downloaded it thinking it would improve my gaming experience when in fact. IT didn't. There are 27 total files that wasn't able to be written or opened.

So far these are the ones that i have encountered and I have uninstalled and reinstalled the package a couple of times and went so far as to delete everything and begin anew. It wouldn't be so bad and everything if I hadn't purchased a sizable amount of lindens. But I did, if these things can't be fixed to work with Vista could you either tell me how I can get reimbursed for my lindens or give me a link to the version that precursed this latest one thank you.

Try using one of the Older Viewers like 3.0.0

Hello Everhardt and welcome to SL Forums. I had exactly the same problem with the previous version of V3. Your installation is corrupted. So:

1)Uninstall the program using the Windows Control Panel

2)Delete all contests at the following folders:

• C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ AppData \ Roaming \ SecondLife and
• C: \ Users \ (USER NAME) \ ApplData \ Local \ Secondlife

3)Download a fresh copy from http://secondlife.com/support/downloads/ and install it. Normally it will fix your issue.

If the folder Appdata is hidden, make it visible under Windows Tools --> Folder Options --> View & enable Show Hidden Files/Folders
C: = your hard disk. Where you see backslash (\) follows a folder into the previous one
