You may not sell real life goods or services on the SL Marketplace web site.  You may, however,  sell what you wish in world provided it is a legal product or service within whatever restrictions stated by formal rules or social custom.  Formal rules would include Terms of Service, estate covenants, venue rules, group charters etc..

To be safe and professional, always obtain the permission of the land, venue, or group owner to sell in these places by giving out information, posting notices or saying things in public or group chat or private IM (which is considered spam). 

You may rent or purchase space from which to sell them from a shop, office, or ad board etc.- provided it is allowed on the sim where your space is located.  Generally that would be a commercial sim or venue. 

You may start your own group and ask interested people to join the group and sell that way. 

You may take ads out in SL publications or media such as radio or TV. 

You may have private conversations with other people about your product or service if they wish to talk to you about it.  Keep in mind that people are in SL for fun or for their own purposes and most of people do not want to be solicited with real life offers.  If you approach people, move on if they show no interest in speaking about it with you.

You may wish to consider hiring a company that specializes in helping RL businesses in SL to guide you or help you promote your business so that you can avoid mistakes.  Look in search for 'solution providers' for this type of assistance.  Solution providers may be 'full service' and provide everything you need including, helping you find land, building a building, hiring or training RL or SL staff, etc, or may specialize in one area such as marketing.  Solution providers must apply for this designation from LL and meet certain requirements to obtain the designation.  There is even an island called SLExpo where these firms have booths you can go visit to obtain information about them in one convenient location.

Be professional in representing your business and products and you may be successful.  Break formal rules and / or social customs and you may find yourself personally muted by people or banned from areas and the reputation of your business damaged.
