unable to view profiles

I'm using SL Viewer 3 on a Macbook Pro running the lastest version of Lion.

I am unable to see and edit my profile.  I am unable to view other profiles.  Opening a profile generates a non-graphical window filled with with links such as:  IM, Send Message, Offer Teleport, Call, Map, Share, Pay.

I've tried using my desktop as an alternative but end up with the same problem.  I've also tried clearing cache, reloading the viewer.

Any thoughts on the cause of this problem and how to resolve it?
