i cant be heard now by mic in local chat i dont even see anyone talking on my speakers

a couple days ago i must of hit something wrong  all the sudden nwo i cant hear anyone talking in local chat  and i cant use my mic  they cant hear me     but if i  go to IM and call them    then my mic works and we can talk  ,.....its like ive muted local chat somehow ?  if they are infront of me talking    they dont show in my speaker and they say i dont have a dot over my head   ....... help  its been working for years now  all the sudden i cant   i did something

Unfortunately Im having the same problem and I can't find an answer either. Now that I've seen your post Im thinking it may be a problem with the game site. Have you recently changed your internet  provider? I started having problems after I changed to time warner cable internet. But it may just be a coincidence that it happened at the same time. Thats why I was curious if you'd recently made any changes on your internet provider. Hope we can get answers somewhere. Have you done a ticket with linden labs?      thanx sunshine2011
