"The Long Way" is a unique musical theater experience designed specifically for the virtual world of Second Life. Through the use of cutting-edge technology such as virtual environments, avatars, CGI video, AI video, and concept art, along with live musical performances, audiences are transported on an immersive journey through an original story. This production brings together a variety of multimedia elements, including voice acting and musical performances, to create a truly dynamic and interactive performance that blurs the line between reality and the virtual world.

In a dystopian future world, Lex, an android technician, and his synthetic assistant Ami embark on a journey to find a secret medicine that can cure his mysterious chronic illness. Their quest takes them from the dystopian city to a forbidden forest deep within the restricted zone, where they meet a medicine woman who prepares Lex for a transformational ceremony. Through the ritual, Lex undergoes a profound physical and psychological change, shedding his disease and gaining a new perspective on life, love, and death. As he wakes up in an unfamiliar place at sunrise, he reflects on his transformation and makes a pivotal decision about the direction of his life.
