Can someone please explain to me?? This is just for better knowledge for me to spread.

 

We have a lot of impersonators who spend their time devoting sl to their fav star by recreating their avis and special moments...

but.. Is it safe to use their logos? For example...

If the impersonating band in SL uses the same RL imagery/logo as the RL band is that against the rules

OR

if there's a piece if the SL logo within the band logo.. for example they will have BACKSTREET BOYS..but the C in that logo looks like the SL logo just a little stretched..

Is that copyrighting and against the rules?

TOS states (in so many words) that you shall not upload, create, or otherwise bring in world anything that represents a RL celebrity or product without written permission. It's enforced about as much as speeding laws in my town.

It's also worth noting that even if the Backstreet Boys don't come for you, Linden Lab probably will.
