evoludie
Hello everyone, I have been looking around for a good beginner guide into LSL scripting. Most are more confusing than anything else. Some have told me to start with this book : https://www.oreilly.com/library/view/scripting-your-world/9780470339831/ I see it has been written in 2008. Is it still relevant today or is it obsolete ? Eth3l
Hello there, I read this book when I started with LSL way back in 2016. It's has a lot of examples & sample projects written by professionals. Some of the examples won't work as-is. But for the most part, it perfectly delivers the core philosophy of LSL. Plus, to get good in the language, you need to practice anyway. I'd recommend reading this book if you want to get the most out of your LSL scripts. Cheers!

I was not able to find if LSL had a version so a bit unsure about reading the book. But thanks I will get the book.
KT Kingsley
LSL regularly gets new functions, often corresponding to new features in SL, but the basis remains unchanged. What you might have to keep an eye open for when studying an older book on the subject is that a more recent LSL function may supersede a technique described in the book, which simplifies it and also makes it more efficient.
