There is an option that allows you to see where you are teleporting but I can't remember what it is.

I did it before a long while back, and I know there is a way to remove the black screen when teleporting, so that you can see what is happening while teleporting but I can't remember how it's done.

In Firestorm it is under Preferences>Firestorm>General  I don't know if other viewers have the option although viewers based on Firestorm such as CtrlAltStudio probably has it too.
