No. LL cannot do that. Sorry but you are stuck. If your group is not too much a big one (of course it would be way more complicated if you have 500 or 1000 members), all you can do is eject the other members (inform them via notecards before you do so they don't take offense), create a new group and invite the members in the lattest.

As for your current group, if the person you accidentally gave an owner's rank remains the only person, the group will be disbanded within 48 hours. That is, if he does not invite other persons to join.

Plus, if you create a new group, you cannot give it the same name as the current one.

As a sidenote, always prefer to give owner's role to your own alts. You can hardly be betrayed by yourself... :smileywink:

Ejecting members from a group

If you have a role with the Eject Members from this Group ability, then you can remove people from a group.  Exception: you can't remove a group owner.

To eject someone from a group:

  1. Open the group profile.
  2. Click Roles to display the Roles section.
  3. Click the MEMBERS tab
  4. Select the group member you want to remove.
  5. Click Eject.

Disbanding groups

While there's no explicit mechanism for simply deleting a group while it has members, you can disband a group in which you are an owner by ejecting all the other members and making sure nobody new can join the group.

After 48 hours with a membership of one or zero, a group is disbanded automatically.

32px-KBnote.png Note: Once you disband a group, you cannot recreate it. You can create a new group, but the new group cannot use the exact same name as the dissolved group.
