The music URL on a parcel is processed by default using the FMOD sound library included with SecondLife. When your sound experience is not satisfactory using FMOD it is usually because of 2 basic issues.

1) Your % of the bandwidth allocated for SecondLife that is used to stream music is being interrupted.

2) Your Internet Downstream speed is very low.

The reason your stand-alone player works better than using the FMOD player is that it doesn't have to share the bandwidth with the viewer per-se.  Of course when you use a external music player the bandwidth of your internet available to the SL Viewer goes down and you'll see this as poor response in-world.

The best solution is to get a faster Internet Provider.

The next best solution is to lower your bandwidth setting in the SecondLife Viewer by about 1/5 of what it is set to now. Yes lower it. So if your current setting is at 500 kbps, set it to 400 kbps and restart the viewer. This will allow a bit more bandwidth to be used for Music Streaming.

HOW: Me / Preferences / Setup / Network: / Maximum Bandwidth / 400
