Thanks for editing your post. OK so we are talking about the latest Mountain Lion version. I updated too, on two different iMacs, and not having any such issue. I would suggest you do a clean reinstall of the viewer as explained in this link. This normally should get you sorted out. :-)

Which viewer?  What exact version number?  No, "latest viewer" is not useful inforation.  Also, just pry the caps lock off your keyboard and throw it away, you don't need it.
