Which OS update? And what viewer do you use?

Thanks for editing your post. OK so we are talking about the latest Mountain Lion version. I updated too, on two different iMacs, and not having any such issue. I would suggest you do a clean reinstall of the viewer as explained in this link. This normally should get you sorted out. :-)
