All viewers crashing except Phoenix.

Hi. My Second Life Viewer keeps crashing. I'm using Mac OSX and I've tried, Second Life Viewer, Firestorm, Singulatiry, Imprudence. I've reinstalled all the viewers and the only viewer that works is Phoenix however, I can't view mesh. I've also noticed everyone is using Viewer 2 in world. Is this a glitch or is everyone really using it? Thanks :)

 

I FOUND THE SOLUTION. 

After about hours of searching for a solution, I found it!! Because 10.5 Mac OSX is not compatible with the latest versions of firestorm or other mesh viewers, just roll back into Firestorm 3.2.1.24179 or into later versions of mesh viewers.

 

(This is just for FIrestorm. I have not tried it with other mesh viewers but if it works too, please IM me in world)

Which OSX? And which Mac? Mesh enabled viewers won't work on older ones. You need at least Leopard or Snow Leopard to use those (and an Intel processor).

Mac OS X Version 10.5.8 is there any way to view mesh without leopard or snow leopard?

I'm afraid not Hiraki. Until you can afford a recent Mac, you'll have to do with Phoenix. It's not the answer you would have liked to hear, I am sorry. 10.5.8 (Tiger) does not support mesh viewers.

err. oops I'm pretty sure my mac is leopard. I was able to use viewers like firestorm and second life viewer back at the start of the year. I left sl for a bit and came back and it's not working now.

OK. So go to the apple menu and check all available software updates. If your mac can support it, it's also maybe worth upgrading to snow leopard. See also if your plug ins are up to date (Quicktime, Java, etc).

I checked my software update and it's up to date. I have Version 6 for Java. I am still unable to use mesh viewers. I also found out that I can't use anything mesh related. So I can't use programs such as blender.

I would suggest you explain your problem in the Mac thread link I gave you. It is an official Apple forum, and I don't doubt you will get good advices there. However, If I remember well, I was not able to see mesh before I upgraded to Snow Leopard 10.6.6.
