Question

I am trying to use a netbook to access SL and all online searches point to Rainbow viewer 1.19.0.5 for netook use. I have it installed but logging in forces me to upgrade. I have checked Preferences but there isn't an option to disable updates in this viewer. Any help is appreciated.

If there is another viewer that is netbook friendly I would be willing to try it as well.

Thank you in advance!

Korbin

Contact Boy Lane and ask for help here. They have what they call a "shout box" which seems to be a kind of support. However, it doesn't seem this blog has been updated since one year...

Looks like they still have older SL 1.23 available for download (for Windows. Being myself on a Mac, I have no way to check if this link is valid).

Korbin, if you installed the viewer correctly (first the old official full viewer, then Rainbow on top of it) you will find a shortcut in the installation directory (e.g. c:\program files\secondlife) - RainbowViewer.lnk. Use this to start Rainbow and there will be no forced update.

Nevertheless I really don't recommend to use this 1.19 version anymore. It's stoneage :)
