Kelley Wonder
Please bear with me, I am new to building in SL, smile. I would like to create signs for my sim. Is there a simple way to apply text to a prim? Thank you for your help..
Innula Zenovka
The usual method is to make a texture, in Gimp or Photoshop or something, with the desired wording and then upload it and apply it to your prim.
valerie Inshan
As Innula said, you need to use a photo editing program outside SL to create your custom signs (I would recommend you start with Gimp which is a free software). Once they are saved on your hard drive, you will have to upload them to SL (using the + sign at the bottom of your inventory). Each image will be saved in your inventory as a texture (there is a 10L cost per upload), then just drag the texture on your prim to apply it. Once this is done, in the edit mode menu, you will be able to adjust the size, opacity and shininess. Several easy tips are in these links. http://secondlife.wikia.com/wiki/Texture http://thinkerer.org/Lod/LodPixTex.htm http://secondlife.wikia.com/wiki/Prim#Adding_Texture Gimp downloads: http://www.gimp.org/windows/ http://www.gimp.org/downloads/
