i dont see any of my friends on

but i see them on line on the dashboard...and when i go to say hi..it shows them off line

 What do i do to correct this?

This could be a region issue: try to login from another location.

This also could be an Internet connection issue. Unplug everything from the power (router/modem & computer). Make sure you DO NOT use wireless but a regular cable. Plug back on everything and connect to the web. Then login to SL, preferably in a quiet region (Smith, Pooley, Furball... you choose). Wait till everything rezzes and loads (including your inventory). Then TP away where you want to.

You don't say chich viewer you are using, but see if you're having the same issue with a TPV (Firestorm or Phoenix).
