Question

I have just returned from 2 weeks holiday. All was fine before my holiday but now every time I login, I first lose movement and then get logged out after 2 minutes!! has anything changed whilst I was away?

Incidentally I can log in using my laptop. It is my PC or SL where the problem seems to lie yet nothing has changed. I have tried cleaning the registry, clearing the cache and updating Graphics driver

Help!!

Sky Router

Before going on holiday all was well with the world. very few if any crashes. I was using Firestorm viewer with latest update. Then, in the past few days, this didn't work so I tried unsucessfully to use Phoenix and SL Viewer (latest version)

Band width is set fairly low, running at 221 kbps

Packet loss 0%

Ping sim 10000ms

FPS 66.4fps

After about 30 seconds use movement of my avatar stops, although it is still possible to turn. othere users still see me move! then eventually it tells me that I am logged out and can view IM or chat, although I cannot contribute.

I have now tried replacing the graphics card. Deleting all logs, appdata..roaming and local and reinstalling the viewer. nothing is working and to cap it all my laptop has now decided to join in the fun! I do not seem to be the only resident having this problem!!

Had you not said anything about the other PC or that you could stay logged in before, I would have guessed the router could be an issue. Some NetGear routers have been causing this kind of problem in the past. I don't know if they still do.

Other than that - do you get any error message or 'warning'/sign that you are about to be logged out? How's your packet loss in the viewer (Press Ctrl+shift+1 to open the performance panel)? Does it help to lower the max bandwidth setting? Does it work with other viewers?

Edit your post in the top right corner, under 'Options', to add information.
