  1. That must be it, I'll add a few more layers and see if it helps, thanks so much guys!
  2. Hey Guys, Another day another problem...I just cant get to the bottom of this one This is how it looks in Blender with 3 material layers But when I upload it... So yeah any tips? By the way its skinned/rigged (not sure if that matters) Blender 2.69 and using Avastar Collada exporter
  3. Theres not even any verts in there once the subsurf is applied. its like someone poked everything out of that area. A blender ghost. Heres another strange thing, I thought maybe the normals might be flipped (even though theres no faces there in the first place lol) so I ctrl+N and blender crashes to desktop, over and over. Could this be related? I might need to reinstall... EDIT: No change after reinstall (Cleared all settings and plugins)
  4. My 350 vert hand has a little trouble when I add a subsurf modifier. I've tried subdividing the area before I add it and even moving the verts out further apart from eachother but everytime i add the subsurf I get a nice big hole in the middle there. Blender 2.69 Any sugestions? :D (Edit: I found a fix kinda...If I add an edge split modifier before the subsurf I can turn the split angle up 180degrees and it fills in the hole magically)
  5. I'm thinking now that the real problem was the poly count. Does a .ply reduce the count? Do high poly counts effect animation? btw thanks so much for your help, I am loving Avastar
  6. I was trying to transfer some blender mesh I made for another skeleton to the second life skeleton. The reason why the format change worked was, just as you said, took away the weights and other properties applied by the previous skeleton.
  7. God bless .Ply files! So who knows what I did to the mesh or skeleton, but I found a very very simple fix to all my problems. Exporting the mesh as a .Ply file and reimporting it (then smoothing it optionaly) completely fixed my problems, I am now able to resize and parent with no hassles. Thanks for your fast reply and sugestions! GL to anyone in the future who runs into this problem.
  8. I am new to blender, Using the Avastar plugin. Any Mesh I create and fit to the skeleton is scaled and deformed when I parent it! Using automatic weights, I have tried looking for other posts with the same issue but nothing matches my issues, I have tried locking the mesh scale. This doesnt just happen when using the Avastar model, other secondlife models give the same results, as do other mesh models I create... I read somewhere that both the skeleton and the mesh have to be scaled to 1.0 oroginal size, that is probably my problem but im really hoping for a workaround! thanks in advance.
