Many people who login to SL on a regular basis have no idea that there is a thriving live music community. And I'm not just talking "track" singers, like myself. I'm talking singer/songwriters/musicians of all kinds, all genres - if you like music, chances are pretty good someone in SL is performing your favorite genre somewhere on the grid TODAY. That being said... for the last couple of years, SL musicians have been meeting up to perform together in RL all over the world - US, Canada, UK & The Netherlands. We get together every couple of months in a different location for a weekend of jamming. People who love to listen come to hang out and participate as well. Best part? We stream these events into SecondLife with web cam and audio stream. Talk about music bringing people together! This upcoming Jam in Nashville will be amazing - we have people coming from England, Scotland and Holland to attend. There will be many of us regular attendees who will greet each other as old friends. And there will be some people who will be meeting folks from SL in RL for the first time. Best part - we'll be making music in the moment - creating in the moment - and we get to share it with our friends in SL from all over the world. Doesn't get much better than that. The reason I'm writing this is that I want to get the word out - about Live Music in SL and about our RL meet-ups. We thrive as a community only if we continue to grow.
