500 Lindens for all first-time Giant Snail Racers, every Saturday!

Many of you will have heard of the Giant Snail Races, run by RacerX Gullwing, which have been running weekly in SL since 2004 and celebrated their 8th birthday last Saturday.  Well, it's always good to see fresh blood taking part, and to that end here's a special offer for anyone who's never raced before: come and take part in the races on Saturdays at 11am, finish one race, and 500 lindens will be yours; it's as easy as that. And that's not all: there are cash prizes for everyone who qualifies for the final race. Win it and you'll walk away with another 500 Lindens!

And it really is the best time to start racing. The first six-race season of the brand new 2012-13 Championship year starts this Saturday. Win cash prizes of 1,500, 1,000 or 500 Lindens for finishing 1st, 2nd or 3rd in that. Do well in the other five seasons that make up the Championship and you could be in the running for the 5,000 Linden grand prize for top snail of the year!

So, how do you start? Well, simply head to Devon Dream - http://maps.secondlife.com/secondlife/Devon%20Dream/154/95/777 - and when you get there click through the tutorial buttons 1 – 8 (you may find free gifts, too) and follow the instuctions within. Alternatively, here's a video giving you an overview of the course:

And that's all there is to it, really. A race will consist of three laps around the track; when you're confident you can do that IM RacerX Gullwing (alternatively Tindallia Soothsayer or Safra Nitely) and say you'd like to apply for a snail racing license. They'll check that you can do three laps around the course, and then you can race on Saturday. If they're not around then they'll be at the track from 8am onwards on Saturday so you can do it then.
