  1. I totally agree with Arkady: if they make it difficult to spend money from outside the USA, then let's just stop doing so.

However, I have one new problem: since the transfer to Local payments wiped my payment info without a warning, I am unable to set my tier to ZERO. You need payment info "to not pay any longer". :-(

I can not add a payment method by "initiating a transaction" at the moment either: it will first spend the USD in my account, which I need to pay my last month's tier.

  2. Some months ago Oskar Linden asked volunteers from the Second Life Beta group, to test the new billing system.Very soon therafter my second premium account was hit by the new local payment system. I was unable to add a method of payment otherwise than by first making an attempt to buy something (L$ and land). I had to find out from the support desk that Paypal was no longer an option for people outside the USA who had never had that kind of payment info before.

After endless debates with Nya Linden I demanded in support chat that a database engineer look into the matter. Fortunately my record was then corrected manually and untill a few days ago all was fine. I then discovered that payment info for *both* my avatars was gone. Now I am unable to change my tier level. I can't even set it to ZERO without having payment info on file.

In the mean time I kept sending letters to LL explaining that Europe has no credit card based economy like the States and that they would never get new paying members if Paypal was outruled. Now there is a "promise" on the form saying that Paypal will return. It better be. I remember how Red Light Center (Utherverse) lost many paying customers when they could no longer work with Paypal (which was Paypal's decision at the time, because they don't want the adult industry as clients).

  3. You might give him an animated pet. Not a breedable though, those cost a lot of money to maintain and become a burden.

There's all kinds of nice animals at Zooby's (you might also buy an animated toddler there but that's more of a girl thing). For birds of prey etc. you can also try Animania.

  4. This is probably just a group of Tiny Empires players. I've seen such groups often, but mostly hovering over a parcel that one group member owned. Quite often also there will be one main avatar with a cloud of alts who have been logged in with the help of a text only client. The trick is finding the main avatar, if you want to talk to him at all, it's usually the one with profile details whereas the others have none.

  5. Text for a notecard :smileyhappy:

    "Dear friend,

I haven't heard from you in ages and maybe we both lost track of how and why we have become friends.
Since I can no longer afford to buy rezzday presents for all of my friends, I have decided to finally shorten the list.
I hope you won't mind if I take you off, until somewhere in the future we might meet again on a more regular base.

If you really insist on keeping me among your friends, I kindly ask that you pay me L$ 500 as a contribution to my administrative cost.

    Yours sincerely...."

  6. One big problem often seen with teleports is that scipted attachments cause a lot of trouble.
I'm not sure whether or not teleporting with worn huds can crash you personally, but when you tp to a new region that region has to instantly compile any scripts that you are carrying in attachments. This actually freezes the region that you teleport to for a  moment. This is what causes the infamous lag in regions where many people tp in and out all the time. It's called the monobug and LL is working to resolve that. Your problem might well be related to it.

  7. "Something unexpected has gone wrong" usually indicates that you couldn't make a connection to the server at all.
It happens when you use more than one grid to connect to and the default isn't Second Life. In some viewers the last grid added becomes the default. Also if you use Peerblock and didn't create an exception list for Second Life servers.
