The thing I find most interesting in this conversation is the conspicuous absence of LaraX.  I know my opinions, some of which center on it being a lost opportunity, but I'm not sure why exactly.  Was it modest hips, boobs, limited options for their exaggeration, too close to what was rather than what has become the contemporary standard of body preference?

It might have been worth reading my original post at the start of this thread, before commenting. I already own both Lara and Larax. My post was about whether I should purchase the Legacy pregnancy body or the Reborn body with a pregnancy add-on. I was specifically looking for a pregnancy body. I'm very happy with the choice I made. The original discussion led to people discussing the merits of both bodies that  I had originally referenced, which is why Lara x is not mentioned.

It might be worth reading the start of a thread before commenting so you don't come to precipitated conclusions.

  2. The last picture of the twins in the oven. I think we're all tired of the bump at this point 😅. In theory I wanted to do one last photoshoot with a bunch of different pictures, but in practice, I couldn't be bothered. I ended up taking one last picture with Lazuli, saying  goodbye to this stage in our storytelling. Me..._001.thumb.png.0d9759d26e9ba3493ade00d24a451309.png

  3. For a while, I've been looking for ways to share memories without disrupting my current storyline. Storytelling is a big aspect of my SL and I would love for you all to see some of the memories that have led me here.

I was flirting with the idea of a blog until a friend of mine suggested a virtual scrapbook. Thank you Momo for giving me a nudge in the right direction. I'm hoping people will be able to use this topic to post their scrapbook spreads, if they so wish.

    Some extra details ...

I used Canva to create my scrapbook and if you want to join in, you can use that too. Alternatively, you can also use any software that allows you to organize pictures or edit them. You don't have to stick to any set topic in your scrapbook you are free to choose your topics.

    Tay xx

  4. I'm unsure if you mean how am I making it or where I am posting it.

I'm putting it together using Canva and I'm posting it as an album on Flickr. I'm also considering making a  topic in the arts section for people to post their scrapbooks if others want to join in.

  5. I've been looking for more creative outlets and ended up settling on a virtual scrapbook. This project has been really helping me come out of a creative slump. My next spread will feature some of my SL friends and I had the idea to take photobooth-style pictures with them to add to the scrapbook. Before I take pictures with others I tend to take test pictures to see if the idea translates well. Here are my tests shots for this little project. Photoboothpicsme.thumb.png.b6b1d245c275095613d2bc12965a2f93.png

  6. My 1 cent,

If I can afford to put 50 smackaroons into SL that's not going to suddenly change because the Linden value looks different. I will simply change my spending habits to fit the set budget. I'm not suddenly going to have more than 50 smackaroons to spend just because the exchange rate changed. If anything I will be buying from fewer people because my money won't stretch as far as it used to.

The profitable stores on SL all have something in common. They produce a product/service that people want and value. They sell their product/service at a price people are willing to pay. If you are on SL and aspire to make a living you need to make sure you are selling something that holds value for others. People spend money on what they value. If you are not profitable in this economy your business will not suddenly become more profitable when people have less money to spend. If anything small businesses will suffer more because I would rather put money in something that has market credibility than risk it trying something new that I'm unsure of. This feeling is only exacerbated by having fewer Lindens for my money.

Business and Charity are not synonymous. No one deserves money just because they opened a store on SL. No one deserves money just because they spent hours on end learning a new skill set. No one deserves money just because they put effort into something. Effort does not equate to achievement. Just because you value your own product doesn't mean everyone else is forced to value it in the same way. If your business is not profitable, it doesn't mean your business isn't valuable. It means that your business isn't valuable to others, therefore they are not willing to exchange something they value ( their hard-earned smackaroons), for your product.

I'm really hoping some of the comments I read are a joke.

Ok , try moving money out of SL without following the rules of the U.S. and get back to me when you can actually do it.

What does moving money out of SL have to do with the OP's original question  ? I am responding to the OP's original question of whether having PIOF is an effective age verifier. No one here is talking about moving money out of SL. Having PIOF does not tell LL anything about the age of the account holder unless they are in the US. SL is not restricted to the US alone. As it currently stands children outside of the US could have PIOF , so NO it is NOT an effective age verifier for all of SL users. What part of my response are you not getting?

You're right, but it's a U.S. based company and by extension you play by the same rules and laws it is beholden to here.

You are incorrect. If a minor from somewhere in the world has their bank account they can use it on Second Life and thus have payment  information on file. Their method of payment is accepted. This is irrespective of the fact that the rest of the world does not need to follow the same requirements when obtaining a payment method. So yes the US has these checks but other countries do not , and do not need to have these same checks in order to have their payment method on file.

A child in the UK or any other country could use their bank account as a payment  method.
