Is there a section for what's hot now on the website itself, not just the viewer? I ask this because I'm emulating my viewer (built for Windows) on Linux and the scaling doesn't work properly for it, the text is hard to read, etc. I know on the website there's "popular places", but is there anything on the website that displays some sort of real-time - roughly - how many people are in a place at a given time?

This is completely irrelevant to the topic but I really do miss forums in general on the internet. Yeah, they're still around, but they're an endangered species, and they were such an interesting part of the 'net growing up; they've become subsumed by all the big platforms

Since a FS update a little while ago (I don't know which one exactly), alt+ctrl+s doesn't sit, and when I try to remap it it tells me "ctrl+s is already used for the menu"; additionally, I can't press alt and the arrow keys to rotate the camera (as opposed to my avatar) anymore; what can I do about this?

Hi, my Firestorm (6.5.3.65658 - I know there's an update to Firestorm but it hasn't appeared on Flatpak yet) buttons along the bottom row just disappeared; how can I get them back?

Just to be clear - it's called Abitibi now?

Inviting Meta as a partner... I suppose they have to, but anyone with half a brain should understand they're not interested (and certainly not interested in playing fairly) in it, if anything their Metaverse proposal is just a distraction

Nick Clegg, a former British politician who now works for Meta, has written a paper on the Metaverse.
A few key points:
- Facebook/Meta claims to be pro-interoperability
Why do I have a hard time believing this? They lie more than anybody else

...would dreams about Second Life make it Third Life? 🤔

Honestly, if I could bet on only one company to build any sort of Metaverse (I hate that word btw) it would probably be Apple, if they got serious about it

hahaha @ Barbie & Ken...... I agree, and obviously (by their large user base) so do the masses... but even the upgraded version is still too cartoony for me. Not only that, but while there may be adults there, it does seem to be an overwhelmingly younger clientele. I am not putting it down in anyway, they are doing a lot of things right! I just prefer the look and feel of SL better, and maybe a more mature crowd.
I did get addicted to Minecraft for awhile. First, because my sons played it and it was a way to spend time with them. Then, I found myself playing it on my own, but that's because it's creative and you can get lost in building. I never did much socializing there as some do, for the same reason - it felt like a younger user base.
Second Life - for the woman who never outgrew decorating her dollhouse.
I... I want that dollhouse

Yes, we are aware that there is already a different, tangentially related topic on the board.
I wasn't trying to imply 'there's already another thread about this, go away, loser', just more of a link for reference if people wanted to read it

I rent an amazing (double prim) 4096 parcel on Nautilus from a sweet friendly landlord, at an amazing price, and have the following set up on it ... zen garden, my warehouse gallery space built with the cool warehouse kit from Urban Jungle (taking up 2048 of it), my house and garden, plus a 64x64 mirror box and cyber-themed platform up above it all. Could not fit that all into 4096 without the double prim allowance. All shown below ...
How does renting work in this game? As opposed to just owning something outright?

The map and areas change all the time so how often do people look through the wiki finding errors?
