  1. Till a couple of years ago i was logged into SL for 8-14 hours a day. That was when i was actively roleplaying. Since i lost interest because it has become more or less all the same for me :( i am online each day for somthing between 30 -60 min and that is only to meet my partner ... each day the same time. Thats a highlight. For the rest i am very jaded about SL. Maybe it will change in time :)

  2. I am sure SL will be impacted by inflation, especially when it comes to Europeans like me. It is getting bad and I am not spending money at any online game anymore. I need to save up for RL and just bought water canisters, propan gas bottles and more food in cans.

I am sorry for all the creators who will be impacted too, but virtual cupcakes, soups and clothes won't keep me warm :(

If someone IMs you in SL, do you:

Cam on them first to see if you want to reply

Cam and read their profile first

    Totally ignore without further action

IM them back without camming or seeing profile

Also, do you enjoy random civil IMs?

    I first freeze 😬

If its just the awful "Hi, how are you", i neither read nor cam but close the IM without responding.

If it was a sentence, i cam and read their profile

Depending at what is written (BDSM or Sxx) or if they are a still noobish 15 y/o character, i close the IM and don't react

I don't like random IMs but if it's a civil one, i might answer.

Okay, Makes sense yeah, that and the RP aspects mentioned before.

In such cases, Linden Lab should then make this an easily toggle-able feature on the official viewer too then, including names on the crosshairs for those who have legitimate reasons for using it. And the ability to hide own ‘look-at’ from others for those who don’t want to use it for such things, and who don’t want to get pulled into other’s RP or paranoia (without having to modify XML files to do so).

Or, maybe, Linden Lab should enable a feature like 'Derender yourself (if you do not want to be looked at by others' (you = general, not you) 🤣

I have a 'look but dont touch' policy with my girl so....

I have a "I am a big girl policy with my partner so ...' i can handle idiots very well all by myself and don't have to get him involved. It would be totally different if i would be harassed in RL of course. But in SL? I can block and derender just fine.

Besides, i have look-at disabled. I am not interested to know who looks at me. Its humans nature to look and i look too :)

I mentioned in another thread is that my grievance is that most of those 250 events are for women's clothing. There are other avatars in SL. Even when we gets events that might appeal, it's still usually flooded with women's clothing. It's to the point where I don't even look at events much anymore because there's never anything for me.

This is why my partner has stopped to go with me to all the events. He is utterly bored because there is nothing for him at all, except some buildings here and there.

  7. I showed this thread to my partner and he rolled his eyes, saying that if he would want to cheat he wouldnt go and seek for scantily dressed girls at flimsy events and showed me the IMs he got from the last 24 hours

[01:02] Girl: hey, do you have 250 L$ for buy this shirt? pleaseeeeeeeeeee
[01:03] He: i am not your ATM, go work
    [01:03] Girl: please :(
[01:03] Girl: i will give you back

at a well known Jazz/Ballroom club

[02:33] Some Guy: Hello my friend, you are a smart looking guy. You ever in to gangbangs or sharing a woman?
    [02:36] He: No, i don't like to share  :)
[02:36] Some Guy: Fully understand - I was going to share mine not the other way round though ;) Thank you for replying.

It seems that the events are rather harmless but beware of jazz clubs *lol*

Besides all of the above, if i would be so insecure about my partner (if we would have agreed to a monogamous relationship in a virtual world), i should probably live alone.

Even a free market is self regulated. It just doesn't exist in SL which is why there's problems with over saturation.

Customers regulate a free market and as long they buy all those things, creators will produce and offer. I might be wrong but maybe SL is on the brink to change because the market is just ... oversaturated. We might see it at the end of 2022 maybe.

Right? How fast would I rush to a brand new suit shop for women?

    estherquek_modemajeure.jpg

I only own two designed for Maitreya and spend more time than I care to admit stuffing my female form into menswear fit for Jake or Legacy Male.

But hey, I'm an optimist - I think there's still a ton of opportunity in SL. Events are definitely overwhelming at this point, but if you're a designer willing to branch out, you will manage to find a customer wanting to support you at regular prices (hi, it's me, your favorite future customer!).

I just bought a suit :) of a well known creator for men's fashion.

All of this. The Seraphim-style mainstream shopping experience is one thing, but if you're looking for clothing/accessories outside of that (*raises hand furiously*), these events and sales will barely offer you very much. If a designer wants to charge more than the flood of typical 50L-75L event/weekend sales allow, they could enter the goth, punk, unisex/nonbinary, fantasy, cyberpunk, athleisure, vintage, boho, grunge, glam rock, techwear, formal/black tie, business wear, cosplay, 1920s, rockabilly, etc. etc. etc. fashion markets and make a killing. Primarily because of me - I need ALL of this in my life. Please, take my money. Thank you. 😂

    👍👍👍

Goth, business wear, formal (especially for men, i think there are only 3 good formal outfits?) ... i would buy it all

Immigrants don't have children who are considered natural born citizens of the country they are born in? Are you saying that because their parents weren't born in that country, the children are not European?

Because if that is the case then none of the humans on this planet are European because their ancestors didn't originate in Europe. They originated in Africa like everyone else's ancestors.

Lots of Spaniards are darks skinned, considered brown, not white. Like Ricardo here:

Same for Italians and their Mediterranean dark skinned roots.

children of foreigners born in Germany have acquired German citizenship if one parent has lived legally in Germany for at least eight years and has an unlimited right of residence.

And yes, i know that some european cultures are more dark skinned. I am living with them :) in Europe.

Wouldn't that mean, according to your own criteria, that you could just select "White"?

Yes, i could do that but what about my neighbour who is black but happens to be a german? Does he has to identify as an african-american, or maybe as someone from hawai if not so black and the woman with spanish parents as a latina? The questions were not generated for europeans. Thats why i assume, we do not count here .. just good for the money.

  13. I have stopped to rush to events during the last year as it happened more and more often that i came home empty handed. there was simply nothing of interest left, except sometimes when i found one piece of interest. Either i had something similar bought already 3 times before or it was much to short (when it came to skirts or dresses) and barely covering. I like to be more casual/classy dressed. So, i stopped end of last year to look at seraphim for the next event and end up there mostly only when i am very bored.

I personally would like it if there would be events for the more classy look. More COCO and not Walmart.
