It's about 7 years old, but at the time of its release, it seemed to have scored quite well for a portable gaming machine. The downsides seem to be a wonky keyboard, th low contrast screen and its glossyness. In general, it might be an idea to ask if the cooling is still doing fine or whether it needs a thorough cleaning.
Anyway, I've certainly seen much worse ... much, much, much much ... for running SL. What's the asking price?
PS: What's the problem with your desktop? Perhaps fixing it might be less pricy...
I do not have a desktop. I just have another laptop that is only good for surfing the net, etc. Definitely not good for gaming at all. The asking price for this one I mentioned is $200.

Hi all, sorry to add another thread like this but not sure where else to ask. I have a pretty good understanding of computers but am not a computer genius by any means. I am new to SL and looking to buy a laptop (second hand if possible) since my current computer does not run it well at all. I have read over the recommended requirements but have no prior experience to know what is most important. Here is one of the laptops I am looking at. I understand it is older but wondering if it would be ok to play SL?
Asus g73jh republic of gamers laptop
Intel core i7 q720 cpu
8 gigs Ram
Ati Mobility Radeon HD 5870 Graphics
500 gig western digital Black Hard drive
17 inch 1600 x 900 resolution
Fresh install of windows 7 Home premium
I am a newbie so any thoughts on this are much appreciated!!
Is this laptop good?
