I have a Dell 5600 series with dual xeons running at 3.10 gigahertz and 64 gig of memory on each. I have an Nvidia 4000 graphics card.
I am planning on replacing the GPU as it's not highly recommended. I figure to spend about $100 on the card. I would like some recommendations.

OK I'm going to try joystick to keyboard but what do you mean by built-in joystick? I know there are several types available and I'm wondering if I can use one of them second life. I've seen example of an Xbox controller being used with second life directly.

Hi, I'm a tetraplegic with limited use of my hands and I'm trying to develop a better interface with second life. I use a joystick on my wheelchair and would like to develop one for use with second life. I tried using a generic zero delay stick with a USB converter. Did move my avatar but only about 2 paces. My next try is an Xbox controller but I suspect the joysticks are too small.
Any suggestions? Perhaps using Raspberry Pi?
Thanks

Okay, I'm in my skybox with an Inverse sculpt. I have a transparent box slightly above the surface of the sculpt. If I click on the surface my avatar walks to the spot and stops but the animation doesn't. I've tried adjusting the hover height and that makes no difference. I know it's probably a newbie mistake but I haven't been able to find any reference.

It's probably a sculpt rather than a mesh surface. Making mesh ground and floors you can't rez on is a beginner's mistake and I can't imagine Inverse would do anything like that. They do have at least one skybox with sculpt ground though and with sculpts there is no solution except for adding a prim as Whirly suggested.
I do believe it is a sculpt. Just so I understand; is there a way to make a mesh that can be rezzed on? And, if so, where might I find more information on this?

Then Whirly's questions are probably where you want to focus your attention.
Thank you Rolig.

Are you confident that your skybox is entirely over your own land, and that things you are trying to rez are not lapping onto your neighbor's parcel?
Yes I double checked that. It appears to be all right.

Yes, I think that's the problem. Trying to rez on a mesh surface. Yes I can Rez at ground level. I have to Rez at ground-level and move it up to the sky box?

I recently created a skybox and landscaped it with an Inverse "sky platform" which gave me grass in a cliff like surrounding but now, when I go to place other objects it says that I cannot rez because the owner hasn't given me permission. I checked, and I'm showing up as the owner. What gives?
