[What kind of computer do you have?]

I'm looking to buy a new computer right now I have a crappy little laptop I've had for 2 years and it's not enough everything lags my 3d programs and second life.

 

What kind of computers do you guys use to run SL at top speed? Price range...maybe under 1,000$?

Someone suggested I ask in the creation forums instead so here I am. 

I am looking to create Asian skin like this.

 

I see people make skin for the sims and make the avatar look very different, I was wondering if I could achieve this asian skin type with just a regular second life mesh? The skins in the second life store they are made from the base mesh right?

And people paint them?

I'm not looking to buy skin from the store but to make my own, I'm a bit familiar with 3d (I'm no expert.)  but I'm struggling to make this kind of skin that I want I've seen beautiful skin in the store and I want the same for my mesh but I want to make it myself.

 

Anyway this is what I'm going for and was wondering what would be the easiest software to achieve this? One of them is a sims skin but still what I'm going for..
