[Can i decorate a rental place?]

I just started renting a property... I wanted to buy some things to decorate; am I allowed to do this?

 

How do I do this as I can't seem to get the items out of their boxes and into the place...!!!???

[How do I make my avatar switch movements, when I am using a menu?]

When I have clicked on a menu (ie. dance or sit) I can't seem to make my avatar change their movement or pose; they just continually keep doing the same thing, even if I click a different move on the menu options.

I've tried to make them stand and then re-click onto a new move on the menu but they still do the same previous movement!! What am I doing wrong??

I'm playing with a Mac.
