Envelope of Skin by Dorothy Molloy

    In an envelope of skin,
    in a box of bone
    I live. Jointed arms,
    legs, fingers, toes,
    ankles, elbows,
    shoulders. The small
    shovels of my collarbone.
    The caterpillar of my
    spine. The wide plates
    of my hips.
    In an envelope of skin,
    in a box of bone
    I live. Endless skeins
    of hair pushed through
    the epidermis. A hundred
    years' supply of nail crouches
    inside my fingertips
    and under the cushions
    of my toes.
    Drums hide in the swirl
    of my ear; a bridge
    crosses my nose.
    My belly a factory,
    a recycling plant,
    a compost heap.
    My pelvis a girdle,
    a breeding-ground,
    a nursery.
    The sponges of my lungs,
    the pump of the heart,
    the pulse at wrist
    and neck
    and temple.
    Alone in my cave
    I quest, striking matches
    as I go. Paintings
    in blood and excrement glow
    on my palaeolithic walls.

The inspiration for this piece comes from the history of aviation starting with the dream to fly , the observation of nature and a kids dream with a paper plane all the way to space traveling.

London Junkers is a seasoned second life resident with a real life experience in graphics and image related work. In second life he took part in numerous art exhibitions namely for the U.W.A., L.E.A., and various art galleries. He also created a few installations for the second life birthday events. At the moment he is working on some pieces for future exhibits.

I was born in Second Life on february 25 2007
My passion for art has been part of my virtual life from the start, and in RL began many years ago.
As an artistic 'consumer' there have been many artists both great and lesser known that I have folled and admired, but what is most important to me is to see the work of anyone who can craft various media in such a way as to express their feelings.
In Second life I began using art to express feelings and thoughts simply as a way of playing, trying out theings that were new to me, but with simplicity and entirely for my own enjoyment.
i do not think of myself as an 'artist' and certainly don't consider myself an 'inventor' of anything groundbreaking, I create art simply for the the pleasure of creating, and if what I make brings pleasure to others, I am flattered, because I see art as a language that allows the creator and the observer to communicate, in an exchange of emotions.

My creations are a search of movement and color, in some there are used scripts of motion or otherwise, and in others the sense of motion is given by the transparency that integrate with the overlap of shapes and colors.

    ******
Tani Thor was born in SL in December 2007 from the curiosity that sprang from an online article written by Beppe Grillo on virtual worlds. After wandering for a few months, a meeting with Aloisio Congrejo, already a famous gallery owner, opened the world of art to me. My first "creations" were born from a little boredom and a bit of curiosity: to see Aloisio create was a stimulus.

I did not follow building courses in SL: everything I've created, i did it by myself, but always under the watchful eye of my "mentor", who advised and guided me in the processing of prims: twisting prims, applying movement and texture animation scripts to them, all the while using my curiosity and imagination. I manipulated prims using my own personal sense of color and form, but art is something else!

With time I became involved in the organization of art galleries, creating with Aloisio Congrejo the group Tanalois Art, which since 2008 has organized exhibitions and installations in SL giving space to established SL and RL artists. We are also interested in launching novice artists into the virtual world.

Since 2010, my curiosity has shifted from 3D creations to SL photography, and I became fascinated with the technique of morphing photographic images of human bodies with the faces of avatars, which forced me to investigate the use of a photo editor. My approach to landscape photography in SL is instinctual, as are all the things I do .... one or two shots at most, to try to catch elusive emotions. Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro are the tools I use for image manipulation, but I try not to alter the essence of the picture itself ...

I collaborate with the artistic organization 2Lei. 2Lei in Second Life is a collaborative project between different SL groups, created in 2010 with the aim to raise awareness and spread events related to the International Day Against Violence Against Women. Virtual artists, gallery owners, musicians and people of Second Life share a common message of solidarity with women through their art. 2Lei organizes and sponsors events that deal with the issue of women at 360 ° and 365 days a year.

I am owner of "tKF" ( torno Kohime Foundation), a not for profit SL foundation created to commemorate an RL/SL artist who died in 2011. In this land, we adhere to the tenets of "Tanalois Art" giving space to all those people who want to express themselves in all forms: music, literature, drawing, photography and any expression of creativity.

In RL i am not a artist or a photographer. I found this interest of mine in the metaverse, and cultivate only here what now has now become a passion!

    Biography Malandrino Musicante
    ********
Malandrino takes its first steps as a singer on SL in the now vanished land of "Legenda Antica". In that place enlivens the evenings of the few members attending the land, but a little later, the number of users increases to come and hear this new voice.
Crucial meeting with Lukia Haldermann offering a place where you can show in the then highly populated "Napoli: la terra dei matti." From there, success is unstoppable and soon was contacted by many other Italian and international owner.
Malandrino has often collaborated with the Vulcano projects (now Pyramid Café) about Fabrizio De Andrè and his memory : remember "Dolce al soffio di De Andrè" book of the poet Gioia Lomasti where Malandrino alternated reading the poems of the book of famous songs De Andrè interpreted with live vocals and guitar: then the "Spoon River Anthology" was proposed where the entire concept album De Andrè entirely with his voice and guitar.

Final event of the Show "2Lei in Second Life for the "International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women".

Its a metaphor for the rebirth of a Woman, the reconstruction of her dignity, destroyed serenity, the strength to go on, of a smile, the hope to forget ... and the return to live. Rebirth that often needs the moral and physical help of the closest people and all of society. After a trauma that changes your life, rebirth is equally a hardship : therefore no woman should isolate herself. Do not be alone ! Do not leave them alone !

The added value is the hand that sustains you, the strength to free yourself from shame and guilt ; It is an embrace in the night haunted by terrible memories. It’s the sun that rises every morning before our eyes, forcing you to say "Life is always beautiful" (despite everything). It’s the person that will not look at you with accusing glances ; It is the absence of prejudice to the victims; It is the freedom to continue living with our heads held high, rebelling, reacting and shouting
" No one has the right to violate anyone "

  15. November 25th, according to the United Nations, is the “International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women“. The United Nations Development Fund for Women estimates that at least one of every three women globally will be beaten, raped, or otherwise abused in her lifetime.

For them, we choose to stand up. We will stand, not because it is a popular thing to do, we stand because it’s the only thing we can do; these are our sister’s, mother’s, girlfriends, acquaintances, humans, women. They are even some of us.

The designers and models of Second Life will stand to be heard, support, embrace, and raise up these women November 23, 2013. We will let the victims, and their abuser’s, know we won’t turn our back on them, or cover our eyes, we are here and we care. Violence against women and girls is not inevitable. Prevention is possible and essential.

During the week long 2Lei event in Second Life (November 18th through the 25th) there will be several events taking place.

  16. Quinta serata della manifestazione 2Lei 2013

Questa sera due eventi ci attendono:
