  1. Howdy folks,

I am currently undertaking a large project with a budget in the realm of USD$2,000 - 3,000 that will involve a significant amount of work and an ongoing committment from a number of people with various skills.

    The Project

Further details will be provided to those interested and full details to the successful applicant, but in brief, successful applicants will work as a team to achieve the following:

Build and script a full region, website and databases that will feature the following:

    • A rural town build with derelict and abandoned buildings on three tiers (underground, ground, and mountains)
    • A complex economy system to manage basic needs (food, drink, etc.), money (completely unrelated to real world money and L$), and other commodities. This will be controlled by a HUD and database, allowing administrators to add or remove items at will and automate payments to users. This system will also need to feature the ability to give objects or money to other users.
    • A complex rental system tying both L$ and the sims fictitious economy in. Rentals will be required to cost both L$ and 'sim money'.
    • A second HUD and database system used to record details of sim users. This will mostly be website based and external to Second Life
    • A comprehensive website, containing access to the abovementioned databases, and a way for people to complete application forms to join the sim.  May also feature a wiki

    Vacant Positions

Builders - 1 Position with the possibility of a second

    • High level of building and texturing with a focus on rural themed buildings both circa 1900's and modern day.
    • Must demonstrate ability to work with both sculpted and regular prims
    • Experience using mesh would be highly regarded

    Sculpters - 1 Position

    • This position will support the builder(s) and scripters and will take projects from them, as approved by the management team
    • Must have a demonstrated ability to work in a team
    • Experience with mesh would be highly regarded

Scripters - 2 Positions with a possibility of a third

    • Will be responsible for two different major projects and a variety of smaller projects. The two major projects will both involve SL-Web database integration. Refer above.
    • Must demonstrate a highly advanced understanding of and ability to use LSL
    • Experience integrating Second Life into the wider web and with websites would be highly regarded

    Website Designers - 1 Position

    • Will be responsible for the creation and ongoing maintnance of the projects website.
    • Must have experience with databases and be able to work effectively with other persons

Given the scope of the project, a few experienced scripters, builders and similar who are unable to commit to such a project are available as consultants. They will monitor work output and provide assistance where necessary.

All positions will be considered ongoing and regular work will arrise even on completion.

    Application Process

The positions will be filled on an application basis, and anyone wishing to apply will need to provide either a notecard to ClarenceValley (Resident) ingame, or email temp.clarencevalley@gmail.com with an application detailing the following -

    1. Real world qualifications or training and experience in the relevant field.
    2. At least 2 examples of your work. These may be ingame or otherwise.
    3. Any experience working on large projects or as part of a team
    4. Demonstrated ability to speak fluent English

Applications will be shortlisted as they are recieved and all applicants will be contacted in due course.  Shortlisted applicants will be informally interviewed.

Pay will be negotiated based on skill level once details of the project have been discussed.

NOTE: Project is expected to commence early to mid October 2011 with a completion date expected mid to late December 2011.
