Not much of an answer unfortunately but I think LL need to be mass ticketed on this one or they will just sit back and ignore the issue, My hunch is the asset servers are not synching properly.

similar to what i am experiencing. I suspect the asset servers are not synched properly(just a guess) and will LL staff severely cut according to some anecdotes  the problems can only get worse not better.;-(

I don't have an answer but this seems similar in some respects to an issue I am having, I suspect the server upgrade was bodged.

btw are the groups you are subscribed to visible in your contacts list?

 Might be worth throwing a ticket at LL on this one.

The advice to file a ticket  MIGHT be acted on if you are a premium user otherwise. just file away and keep your fingers crossed.,some get lucky others don't.

[why have my groups dissapeared?]

Following a reinstall of firestorm due to a possible issue with  sl and resetting my passsword ( because sl refused to accept valid entry until i did this)i am unable to see my groups in my contact list ( it indicates I have no groups) however if i look at my dashboard the groups to which i am subscribed are listed.

 

additionally( as this might help narrow down the problem.)

following a logout a pink heart shaped dance ball is suspended in midair at my home location.i cannot tp anywhere without being kicked out. I cannot send IM's( or at least the IM window is not shown).

 

any solutions to this problem of have LL truly and utterly messed up?lol

 

the above is DESPITE a clean install!! in fact my FIRST RESPONSE WAS A CLEAN INSTALL!!!

 

sorry for caps but i have not experienced this extent of disruption in sl following a server update.

 

[EDIT] following a look around it seems  an increasing number of people are having similar problems with variations consequently I have filed a ticket  and highly recomment others with similar issues do the same.

Are you Living in Northern Ireland and having trouble using the automated age verification process? if so where Linden labs able to resove the oddue satisfactorily? where you ultimately forced to choose between going premium in order to age varefy or tetaining your basic account statusn and not being able to verify?
