[My Blender Bug]

A few months back, I had issues with Blender crashing on iMac and on my alienware, due to the fact that I had a few versions of blender installed on each system at the same time.  You may want to check if you have any previous versions of blender install and remove the earlier versions and do a fresh install of the latest version of blender.
