We ARE an opinionated bunch.  Here's mine: I agree with Derrick Linden in this case.  It is cheating to take in an alt army daily and click/abandon 5 times every day in each account..  The person(s) doing this KNOW they are gaming the system and using it as a way to get ahead in the collecting numbers by constantly moving their buckets for personal gain.  Being an adult I have a personal sense of ethical game play and taking in 10 alts for an extra 50 candies every day that no one else has access to is obvious "gaming of the system" in an unfair way.  Just because you can doesn't mean you should.  Just how long do the rules have to be?  As soon as one loophole is closed, someone will find or create another one.  They know what they're doing.  Cheating.

    100% THIS!

How long do you think Linden Lab will host events if the same small handful of people game them and win each and every time? And how long do you think people will be interested in participating in these events when they have zero chance of getting anywhere? And do we really expect Linden Lab to write an essay full of rules against every potential way someone might game the system in an attempt to keep the playing field level? Aren't we all grown adults?

This has been a blast for me. I have returned to Beliiserria because of this event. I have seen amazing homes and so many people went out of their way to decorate, and I honestly feel like a kid again out trick or treating. Residents are helping other residents, we are sharing bucket locations, getting dressed in costumes and enjoying an adventure. I would appreciate it if we could all play nicely (this is a game inside a game after all) and not sidestep the spirit of the game and then act innocent, hurt and victimized because an iffy winning strategy got called out.

Don't act like a jerk and people won't call you one.

  2. I have flown over Belli so many times in the last few days that I feel I should demand frequent flyer miles and get special promos (this is a joke). I think I have encountered every orb sold on the grid. 99% of them do not bother me, even the ones who do not give the whole 15 secs as per covenant. Most bump me just outside the parcel, which doesn't bother me. I have encountered maybe two or three that have teleported me home instantly (and it is possible one of those two or three is the same one I keep flying over). Those two or three irritate me and I consider AR'ing them, but then I choose to just move on and continue with my fun.

I am fine with using the LL supplied orbs, and I am fine with people choosing the orb they want to use. I wish people would read the covenant, but the fact is, a lot of people do not. That is obvious in my travels through this event. I see platforms floating above people's houses, big flashing cubes, stacked up over a parcel which can be seen a sim away, ugly full bright 6 meter walls around the entire parcel, and ugly out of theme grass parcel size platforms under water stilts and on and on.

People who do not read the covenant now (or read it and do what they want anyway), are going to continue to not read it or follow it, whether LL ban's third-party security or not.

ETA: I wanted to clarify that I haven't seen enough covenant issues to warrant big broad bans of third-party orbs and by doing so, the only people who will be willing to make the change will be the ones already following the covenant and the few offenders will go on offending.

  3. GTFO is a game. Players are not making money. It gives residents something to do and places to explore and sometimes it helps residents meet other residents. I do not play it. I have a friend who does. I went along with him once. I found it a little boring. There is a trash can type thing in Bellis. People can go around and empty each other's trash. GTFO really isn't much different.

  4. I had the same issue with the eyes on the head. It turned out that the eyes look strange when they are not opened up wide. Once I made my eyes wider opened, the skins and head looked much better.

The Wallower is my favorite houseboat style! We even have some of the same add-ons. How in the world did you decorate so fast?

Honestly, I am super organized to the point of being a wee crazy lol

I love this location. I like the campers and more rustic scenery. I do not dare abandon mine though in hopes of getting one in an area like that.

And I didn't stop at one gorgeous Belli spot - this is my alt's camper keeper...I suspect it was an abandon when the Victorians came on the market. I picked it up during that glorious December period when it seemed there was going to be a never-ending flow of Linden homes. I decided to try for a camper when I realised I had about 700m spare on my group land and I figured I wasn't going to be depriving anyone by owning two. I can't let it go as it's just too lovely - the landscaping is breathtaking, even has a picnic blanket by the river just waiting to be laid upon. I also love the sound of the river and birds etc. I enjoy going for a row on Lake Tatakaka, and if I get really adventurous and brave going over one waterfall I can paddle all the way to my victorian :)

THIS looks like my idea of heaven!
